Cindy and Hugh Rice are home from California after attending the world premiere of “By The People:The Election of Barack Obama” which was co-directed by their daughter Amy Rice and Alicia Sams and produced by Edward Norton.

They were among the 350 people hosted by HBO in the Billy Wilder Theater in the Hammer Museum in Beverly Hills, Ca. There will be other premieres in Chicago, New York and Washington, D.C. The television premiere is set for Nov. 3 on HBO, the first anniversary of the President’s election.

The project was the brainchild of Rice. It began May 11, 2006, and concluded on June 28, 2009.

Nearly a year before Obama announced his candidacy for the presidency in 2007, filmmakers Amy Rice and Alicia Sams began to roll cameras on the senator.

The film is a record of the Obama campaign to the White House. There are interviews and candid moments with wife Michelle Obama, the couple’s young daughters, Malia and Sasha, and senior campaign staff, volunteers, reporters, supporters and opponents.
