Colorado College President honored in Oklahoma City

Dick Celeste, President of Colorado College, Colorado Springs, Colo., was in town recently to see current students and their families and to talk to college alumni and prospective students for the Oklahoma City area.
Heather and Bob Ross were hosts for a party for the group.
Special guests were counselors from Casady School, Heritage Hall, Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School, Santa Fe South and KIPP Enterprise School.

Annie Bohanon, Karen Luke and Meg Salyer honored Cathy Stackpole at a party in the Salyer home to celebrate her anniversary with the Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma. She has been the Chief Executive Officer for five years.
A beautiful appliquéd white tablecloth was on the table where tea sandwiches, cookies, brownies and cheese and fruit were served about with a special champagne drink.

CONCOURS d’ELEGANCE

The 59th Annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, a car tour featuring a contest of historic automobiles, was held in California recently. Competitors from 30 states and 19 countries brought their prized cars for judging in 28 classes. At the end of the tour guests had a catered gourmet lunch and a champagne celebration.
Chip Fudge raced his 1956 Lister- Maserati at the Laguna Seca Raceway for the 36th Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races the day before the Concours and then went to the Concours as the guest of Family CFO Co. and Flex Jets. Family CFO president Jeff White also attended the weekend events where they saw Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Comedian Jerry Seinfeld was a Concours participant and won second place in the Porsche class with his 1970 Porsche 908/03 Spyder.

Rotary Club has “Charter Party”

Midtown Rotary Club members celebrated with a ” Charter Party” at Red Prime Steak House. Festivities included a live performance from Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park.
The purpose of the club is to involve younger professionals in the service, fellowship and ideals of Rotary International.
Sheri Guyse is the new club president. Other officers are Megan Elliott, Terra Argo, Chris Shuart, Andy Rine, Marty Postic, Casey Cornett, Kelley Dowd, Lanie James, Susan Urban and Rozz Grigsby and Rob Teel.

Visionary Oklahoma Women (VOW) members met at ArtSpace Untitled hosted by Laura Warriner.
The group began last summer after a party that Lolly and Mike Anderson had for David Kennard to promote his new film “ReCreating America: Creativity and Learning.” 33 VOW members have given $1,000. each and earned a film credit in the movie which premieres October 6. They have met 8 times since then.
Vision statement is “To join with other women to enhance the prosperity and quality of life in Oklahoma by catalyzing creativity in this generation and for generations to come.”

Honorary Consul of Switzerland in Oklahoma Rico Buchli honored

A reception honored Rico Buchli, the Honorary Consul of Switzerland in Oklahoma. He was introduced to state and local government officials at a cocktail reception at the Oklahoma History Center.
Swiss flags were used at the podium and miniature flags were on the cocktail tables.
Speakers were Chris Morriss, Claudio Leoncavallo, Consul General of Switzerland in Atlanta, Ga., and Buchli.
Among the guests were Lloyd Hardin jr., HC of Japan; Chuck Wiggin,HC of Germany; Amalia Miranda Silverstein,HC of Spain, and Barbara Thompson, HC of France.
