DINNER AND ENTERTAINMENT

Elaine and Harrison Levy greeted guests at their anniversary party at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.

Elaine and Harrison Levy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with cocktails and dinner at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club with 300 friends.

.
Several buffet tables were set up with large flower arrangements of hydrangeas, lilies, orchids and ivy.  Beautiful anniversary cakes trimmed in gold icing were the centerpieces for all of the tables.

There was a show featuring two entertainers from Las Vegas, Nev. They were Frank Sinatra and Barbara Streisand impersonators who looked and sang exactly like the two singers.

BEAUX ARTS BALL

Beaux Arts Ball debutantes, escorts and committee members met June 25th at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art for a party.

Since it was so hot on the roof terrace at 6 p.m., the chairmen moved the first part of the event indoors. Committee chairmen presented a check to the Museum for the Acquisition Fund.

The group then toured the new exhibit “Turner to Cezanne:Masterpieces from the Davies Collection, National Museum Wales.”  Then they headed for the rooftop where live music was playing and the temperatures were cooling down.

Connell Branan is chairman of the Beaux Arts Ball which is November 28 at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. Bebe MacKellar is co-chairman.beaux-arts-ball

Wine Women & Shoes private dinners

Gale and Lee Bollinger and Dianne and Denny Meacham were hosts for one of the private dinners connected with Wine Woman& Shoes. It was in the Bollinger home ande featured Patz & Hall Winery and Taylor Family Vineyards.

Another of the dinners was in the home of Amy and Scott DouglasMonique and Andy Nelson were co-hosts.

A couple of others private events were a wine tasing and hors d’oeuvres party at The Ranch Steakhouse. It featured Eagle Eye Winery and Jacuzzi Family Vineyards. The other was at Charlie Newton’s. Coquerel Wines, Family Wine Estates and Gabrielle Collection were featured.

Wine Women & Shoes also had a Wine 101 event for a wine tasting and lecture series aat Chesapeake Campus and the signature event of wine and food, shopping,  a fashion show and live auction at Gaillardia Golf and Country Club.

Birthday party in Oklahoma City

SASSY AT SIXTY

Judy Austin celebrated her 60th birthday recently.  She and husband Sanford planned  a party in their  backyard. They have been working on the garden for two years and it  features a waterfall and water garden.

Centerpieces were orchids and koi fish swimming around in vases. The fish were added to the water garden at the end of the evening.

Chocolate bars and water bottles labeled “Sassy at Sixty.” The birthday cake also had that saying on it. Vegetables and skewers of meat were arranged artistically on the buffet table.

OKLAHOMA CITY WEDDING

cj-felton-012_2The reception was held in Ann Felton Gilliland and Bob Gilliland’s yard on Dorchester Drive where fried chicken, brisket, fried okra, green beans,  potato salad, biscuits and apple butter was served.

At the outdoor reception, wedding cake was served and Banana Seat  Band played. Everyone danced until midnight.  Sunflowers and daisies were on all the tables.

Joy Reed Belt and M. J. Van Deventer entertained friends who were in town for the Prix de West art sale and exhibition at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.

The party was at the JRB Art at The Elms Gallery.

On the food table were excellent choices from Iguana Mexican Grill. There were also mini-cupcakes, brownies and Van Deventer’s home-made  rum cakes.

Steve Owens is Oklahoma City Celebrity Golf Tournament host

11th ANNUAL TOURNAMENT

Terry Brown, Steve Owens, John Carroll and Mike Kennedy won third place in the golf tournaments. Owens was host. (Photos provided).


The Sgt. J. Brandon Memorial Celebrity Golf tournament was held June 5th  at Silverhorn Golf Club.  Honorary Host was Steve Owens.

It was the 11th annual tournament and the group raised $12,000.

Winning teams were Bill Wilson, David Franke, Bill Roberts and Gary Bacus, first place; Dr. Rodney Shivers, Mike Carter, Elwin Pattmon and Ian Tinsey, second place; Terry Brown, Steve Owens, John Carroll and Mike Kennedy, third place, and Thomas Fraley, Jim Loftis, Dr. J. Don Harris and Gary Marrs, fourth place.

Food and drink sponsors were  Great Southwest Dental Lab and Cellar Wine and Spirits.
