Luncheon/Dinner held at Casady School
OU PRESIDENT BOREN IS KEYNOTE SPEAKER

University of Oklahoma President David L. Boren gave the keynote speech at the joint luncheon with the Casady School board of visitors and the Alumni Association’s Casady Club at the school. Parents, grandparents and alumni also attended the event on April 17.
Lunch was served in Calvert Hall.

PATRONS HONORED

On April 16, Patrons who contributed $1000. or more to the Casady School’s annual fund in 2009 were honored at a special appreciation dinner, night of entertainment and celebration of the arts.
The event featured student artwork, sculptures as table centerpieces, and choral, musical and orchestral presentations. 150 guests attended.
Special guests were members of the Casady’s board of visitors.

Women’s Network at OU

Tripp Hall was host in Norman for a meeting to introduce women to the University of Oklahoma Women’s Philanthropy Network. There were also luncheons in Tulsa and Oklahoma City.
Hall emphasized that the events were scheduled to celebrate and promote philanthropic education, leadership and advocacy by empowering women to be active participants in the giving process. OU wants to engage more women in University life.
Hall, Jill Hughes, Les Risser and former student Vice President Tatianna Cannon spoke to the guests. They asked the group to be network advocates, refer friends, host other events and share stories of personal philanthropy.
Among guests in Norman were Anona Adair, Catherine Bishop, Carol Burr, Julia Chew, Jenny Dakil, Judi Freyer, Nanette Hathaway, Judy Hatfield, Becky Heeney, Donna Hughes, Cindy Johnson, Nancy Mergler, Kathy Switzer Miller, Ann Nuttle, Chris Purcell, Lindy Ritz, Kate Stanton, Emily Stratton and Nancy Yoch.

SHOWER AND LUNCHEON

Kari Burris was honored at a bridal shower and luncheon in the Mansion Garden of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. Barby James and Kit Doty were hostesses.
A white tent was set up in the garden and it was decorated with green, pink and taupe paper lanterns. The table centerpieces were the bride’s favorite flowers, white hydrangeas, pink roses and tulips. Lunch was served in pink boxes decorated with pink net ribbon.
Among the guests were college friends of the bride, Cyndy Burris, Joan Burris, Aija Burris, Diane Brownan and Ollie Hadfield.
Kari and Bobby Brown will be married at the Dominion House in Guthrie at the end of the month.
