We will miss Ann Hoover!

ann-hoover

Dear Parties Extra! readers,

Last week end  we lost one of Oklahoma City’s finest party hostesses. Ann Hoover died March 30th.

We will remember fondly her enthusiasm for life, for people and for a good party.

She gave lots of thought to decorations ( using feathers and pearls) and to her menu.  Ann was a true Southern lady and made everyone who walked into her home feel very welcome.

She was a mainstay in our fund-raising community too, as she was chairman of many of our favorite causes.

We will miss Ann.

In sadness,

Helen Ford Wallace

Helen:
Thanks for the wonderful words re. Ann – isn’t it the truth? She turned Nichols Hills and NW OKC upside down when she moved here and it’s hard to believe it was over 30 years ago.
I wish I could get your email links at home still – nothing I do seems to work. Maybe the paper just doesn’t do that any longer. Anyway, nice to be in touch with you now and again!
Best,
Leslie

Dear Helen,
I agree that Ann Hoover will be fiercely missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She and I had fun planning a party that my husband, David, and I gave for the group Ann brought to Washington in connection with her work on the National board of the Kennedy Center. Her enthusiasm and can-do spirit were infectious and will be forever remembered by so many. Of course, I’ll never again put on pearls or red lipstick without thinking of Ann.
