BABY SHOWER

Cassie and Geoff Dulaney were honorees at a baby shower in the home of Laurie and Jim Hdye. The guests were longtime friends and family members.
Hosts were the Hydes, Margot McCann, Lori and Bond Payne and Merry and Chad Vose. Theme for the party was “adding a new bird to their nest.” Birds and bird nests were used in the decorations.
A baby china set was a gift from the hosts.
Dinner was pork tenderloin, Eischen’s fried chicken, southern cheese grits, Jalapeno cheese grits and biscuits with honey.

COURTNEY WELLS HONORED

A party honored Courtney Wells who married James Dunavant on March 7th. The bridal luncheon was at The Coach House.
Mary Durbin, Lori Hill, Christy Johnson, Ginger Johnson, Debby McQueen and Debbie Pitman were hostesses. They gave the bride and her mother, Beth Wells, memory books with photos and notes from the bridal party and friends.
Pink daisies and white hydrangeas in antique silver vases decorated the tables.

WOMEN AGAINST MS

Houston News Anchor Melanie Lawson will be the keynote speaker for the April 8th Women Against MS (Multiple Sclerosis -WAMS) luncheon.
The 8th annual event is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.
Angela Payne Reynolds and Kery Mueller are co-chairmen and Judy Love is the honorary chairman.
Committee members are Emily Blake, Theresa Bozalis, Kathy Brown, Jennifer Duell, Michelle Ellis, Nancy Payne Ellis, Kirk Hammons, E’Shaina Harned, Laurie Hyde, Katie Riesen Lathrop, Emily McCann, Kelly Moody, Myrla Pierson, Joni Rund, Jennifer Shadid, Cindi Shelby and Ashley Walker.

Surprise party

When Michael Bower purposed to Amanda Coy recently, he was pretty sure she would say yes and so he arranged for their parents, Debbie and Randy Coy and Deann and Mike Bower, to surprise her with an engagement party in the Coy home.
Guests included Megan Hines, Jordan Kidd, Ashley Ruhl, Carolyn Trimble, Zac Gaines, Bret Wiegel, Kacy Evans, Kourtney and Jake Hartsock, Matt Bellar, Jerry Bower.
Also attending was Amanda’s brother, Bryan Coy, and his fiancé, Stephanie Hanson, who were recently engaged.
Amanda and Michael’s wedding will be in December.

Connie and Gary Fuller’s dinner party featured readings by James Ragan from his most recent poetry book “Too Long A Solitude.” He is at the University of Oklahoma as a guest screenwriter for Film and Video studies. This is his seventh poetry book.
Connie Fuller played a Chopin Nocturne for the guests who included Mary Ann Malone, Mary Frates, Bette Jo and Frank Hill, Karen and Bob Browne, Odette and Andy Horton, Judy Jordan, Nancy Olney, Jean Warren and Carol and Don Kaspereit.
OU Club’s Third Happy Hour Event

The OU Club of Oklahoma City Happy Hour is March 11 from 5 until 7 p.m. in the Skirvin Hotel Red Piano Bar. University of Oklahoma alumni are invited and Ceth Loomis and Michelle Thompson
are co-presidents of the group.
In February the group had the second event and alumni heard information regarding Big XII basketball tournament and networked with other OU graduates.

LIZANNE AND JOE
Betty Jane Garrett, Lizanne Garrett, Marion Garrett were in town for a couple of parties honoring Lizanne and Joe Reger who will be married in April. (Photo by James Price).
A Luncheon and Tabletop shower honored Lizanne Garrett last week. The party was at The Coach House.
Hostesses were Kris and Meg Weir and Carol Sue Taylor.
Guests included Linda Garrett, Betty Jane and Abby Garrett, Eileen Everett, Alison Taylor, Oklahoma City; Anne Graves, Columbia, Mo., and Jane and Debby Reger, Billings, Mont.; Ashley Goodwin and Heidi Prather, Dallas; Marion Garrett, Miami Beach, Fla.
Silver serving trays, flatware, goblets and water bottle and monogrammed table linens were among the gifts.
Lizanne will be married to Joe Reger on April 25 in Washington, D.C.

BALL BENEFITS CATHOLIC CHARITIES

350 people had alot of fun at the St. Patrick’s Grand Marshal Ball at the Skirvin Hilton Hotel March 7. Guests danced, bid on the various auction items, congratulated the Grand Marshal and his wife, Stan and Suzie Hupfeld, and enjoyed being together.
During dinner, Rev. Raymond K. Ackerman, Master of Ceremonies, and Tim O’Connor, Executive Director of Catholic Charities, welcomed everyone.
After introductions, Auctioneer Brian Preston took over the podium and auctioned everything from a signed OU football to dinner with Father Rick Stansberry and rounds of golf at the Gaillarida, The Greens, Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club, Quail Creek and Twin Hills.
Other fun auctions included a wine pull (testing Irish luck) and a playing card raffle from a television and Wii Sport game. Buddy Billen’s Band played. Toby Boothe was chairman.
Lou and Ray Ackerman were at the party.
