Dr. Teresa Shavney was installed as the 109th president of Oklahoma County Medical Society at a dinner for 200 people on Jan. 24 at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.

Dr. Greg Parker and the Shadowman Blues Project played for dancing. Centerpieces of tall vases of white hydrangeas, red roses and tulips decorated the tables.

Among those at the party were Diane and Mark Harvey, Janie and Jon Axton, Sherry and Gary Strebel, Mary Ann and Bob McCaffree, Keith and Bud Oehlert, Rosalie and Gary Rahe, Barbara and Mason Jett and Diane and Bob Cooke.

2009 WOMEN OF THE YEAR

Oklahoma City Alumnae Panhellenic Association has named the 2009 Women of the Year recipients. They will be honored April 8 at the annual Panhellenic luncheon at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.

This year’s 17 honorees are  Patricia Morton (Alpha Chi Omega); Lynn Doe (Alpha Delta Pi); Sharla Schooley (Alpha Gamma Delta);  Tiffany Warford (Alpha Phi); Kristin Blair JonesLori Westbrook Hill (Alpha Xi Delta); (Chi Omega); Marca Downing Floyd (Delta Delta Delta); Lindy Ritz (Delta Gamma);  Jan White (Delta Zeta); Anne Hardy Hitchcock (Gamma Phi Beta); Lee Ann Smith Nordin (Kappa Alpha Theta); Lucy Cheatwood (Kappa Delta); Joanna Champlain (Kappa Kappa Gamma); Tami Jefferson Adams (Phi Mu); Chris Verity (Pi Beta Phi); Christa Abbott (Sigma Kappa), and Barbara Cook Swinton (Zeta Tau Alpha).

Each honoree was selected by her sorority for outstanding contributions to her career, community, and sorority.

The event supports the groups scholarship program Tickets are $35. and reservations can be made online at www.okcpanhellenic.org or by sending checks to the Oklahoma City Panhellenic treasurer at P.O. Box 13063, City 73113.

A come and go baby shower honored Jennie MacKellar Lewis.

She and husband, Ryan, are having a baby boy in April.

Hostesses for the event were Janie Axton, Barbara Beeler, Sue Goodman, Jayne Henline and Linda Reece in the Axton home.

On the buffet table was a car seat  filled with flowers and balloons.

Among the party-goers were Bette MacKellar, Bebe MacKellar, Fanny Bolen, Kathy Rodgers, Helen Sullivan, Marty Margo, Becky Buchanan, Linda Steinhorn, Leslie Schwartz, Harolyn Enis, Lee Murphy, Pat Timberlake, Gennie Johnson and Mary Reneau.

The 2009 membership kickoff  meeting of Impact Oklahoma Inc. was held in the home of Cassie Bowen. Guests included current and future members and guests. 2008 Grants were awarded during the meeting. Impact Oklahoma, Inc. is a community of women devoted to supporting central Oklahoma by funding charitable organizations. Their interest areas are family, culture, health and wellness, environment and education.Susan Amis is executive director.

 Paul Dudman celebrated his 60th birthday with a gourmet dinner party at The Coach House in Nichols Hills.

Debby Dudman, Jose Freede, Patricia and Byron Gambulos were hosts.

Served at the celebration were twice baked potato with lobster and caviar; salad (Coach House Salad or Warm Game Salad with quail); choice of beef, chicken, sole or lamb. Three desserts were offered to the guests:  chocolate bouchon with carmel sauce, Crème Brulee with fresh berries or apple tart with vanilla bean ice cream and apricot glaze.

The flowers were bouquets of red, yellow, pink, white and orange roses in silver bowls.

The hosts served  Veuve Cliquot Yellow Label Brut Champagne for toasts.

Oklahoma City area alumni members of Pi Beta Phi and Kappa Kappa Gamma sororities met for a joint meeting in the home of Nancy Ellis.

Both sororities were founded at Monmouth College in Monmouth, Ill. They celebrated that fact.

JULIETTE LOW LEADERSHIP SOCIETY

Members of the Juliette Low Leadership Society will have the the fifth annual Girl Scout luncheon Feb. 19th at 11:30 a.m. at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.

Ann Hoover is honorary chairman.  On the advisory committee are Ann Alspaugh, Molly Boren, Marion DeVore, Christy Everest, Tricia Everest, Jose Freede, Dannie Bea Hightower, Lou Kerr, Mary Nichols, Polly Nichols and Meg Salyer.

Karen Luke and Charlotte Richels are luncheon chairmen and committee members include Amy Amundsen, Gene Barth, Kelly Basey, DeDe Benham, Annie Bohanon, Gerry Bonds, Ione Brown, Karen Browne, Tammy Federman, Joan Frates, Peggy Gandy, Joan Gilmore, Kathy Goebel and Kay Goebel.
