The hostesses had shopped the outdoor SF market that morning for the special decorations. Oklahoma City friends of the Mahaffey’s were special guests and they congregated on the two patios of the home. After the cocktail event, many of the guests went to dinner in the SF area and some attended the opera. The next night (Sunday) at the same time of the Saturday party, there was a major ice storm in the New Mexico town.
