Hostesses Mary England, Cindy Worth and Tori Witherspoon and co-hostesses Sara Rhodes, Phyllis Rhodes and Lynne Murcer planned lots of activities for the honoree.
The guests, who were family members, long- time friends from high school, church and the neighborhood, began to party in England’s home with a pink champagne tribute toast, photo cookies of the honoree and chocolate “60” lollipops. Theme for the event was “Sixtylicious.”
The group took got on a party bus where Murcer’s favorite movie, “Breakfast At Tiffany” was playing. They had trivia games and prizes. Pink lanterns decorated the bus and pink candies and water bottles were served.
When they got to Nonna’s Restaurant for lunch, they received fans (with Kay’s photos from 1950). The fans stated “I am an official member of the Kay Murcer Fan Club.” They also received compact discs and pink flashing rings. Tables were decorated with pink beehive wigs on wig heads with flowers.
