Parties Extra!—March 29, 2008—Ribbon cutting ceremony held at Oklahoma Christian University
DEDICATION…. Three areas of Oklahoma Christian University were dedicated recently by a group of University, City and state dignitaries.
The Lawson Commons, named for Pat and Richard Lawson; the 100-foot Freede Centennial Clock Tower named for Jose Freede and the Wanda and Jack McGraw Pavilion, named for the McGraws, were involved in the official blue ribbon cutting ceremony.
Participants invited for ribbon cutting included Mike O’Neal, Gov. Henry, Jose Freede, Pat and Richard Lawson, Wanda McGraw, Alfred Branch, Lou Kerr, Anthony McDermid, Don Millican, James Pickel, Lee Allan Smith, Ryan Smith, Blake Wade and Larry Wallis.
Gov. Brad Henry made remarks during the dedication ceremony. The Oklahoma Christian University Chamber singers sang the National Anthem and Oklahoma.
The guests, seated outside under the new McGraw Pavilion, wore red school scarves given to them by University officials, as the morning was colder than anticipated.
A reception was held in the University House of OC.
