2008 BALL…The Beaux Arts Ball committee met in the home of Ball Chairman Libby Denner. She announced her newly appointed co-chairman and 2009 Ball Chairman, Connell Branan, and two new committee members, Terri Benear and Caroline Hendee. She also appointed committee chairmen and members for the November 29th, 2008 Ball.
Elain Frogge, last year’s chairman, led the group in suggestions for the Ball and collected reports from committee members. Denner presented her with a case of wine with personalized lapels proclaiming “It Was A Very Good Year.”
Thank you picture frames from the chairmen were given to the committee.

SUCCESS STORY….There was a celebration reception honoring Cathy Stackpole and her promotion as Chief Executive Officer of the Western Region of Oklahoma Girl Scouts. Karen Luke and Annie Bohanon were hostesses in the Luke home.
The hostesses gave toasts to Cathy, as did the Girl Scout Board President Pat Aaron. Cathy told the group about changes in the office and new programs being planned.

FRENCH CONSUL….Members of L’Alliance Francaise of Oklahoma City were hosts for a reception to honor Pierre Grandjouan, Houston, Texas, Consul General of France.
The party was in the home of Barbara and Ralph Thompson. Barbara Thompson is the Honorary Consul of France for Oklahoma.
The newly appointed Consul General is also head of the French Trade and Economic Mission. He met with state officials, visited the Oklahoma City Museum of Arts and toured the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.
The recently appointed French Cultural Attaché at Houston, Dominque Chastres, accompanied Grandjouan to Oklahoma.

INFORMATION GATHERING…Ranell Brown and Dianne Meacham were hostesses for a wine and cheese party in the Brown home.
They asked friends interested in Impact Oklahoma to come by to learn more about the organized giving program. Board president Page Beatty spoke to the 25 women.
Susan Amis is executive director of the group of women who contribute financially to five nonprofit areas: Family, Health and Wellness, Education, Environment and Culture.
