ANNUAL JULIETTE LOW LEADERSHIP SOCIETY LUNCHEON

Susan Stamberg from National Public Radio was the featured speaker at the annual Juliette Low Leadership Society Luncheon at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. The luncheon benefits the Red Lands Council Girl Scouts and Stamberg was a Girl Scout herself.

Three Girl Scouts led the 450 women at the luncheon in the Girl Scout Promise and the Girl Scout Law. Centerpieces were terra cotta pots with gardens of grass and Gerber daisies.

Long strands of pearls were sold for $20. (the price of a Girl Scout membership and pin). The pearl idea came from the fact that Founder in 1912 Juliette Low sold her pearls to found the Girl Scouts of the United States in Savannah, Georgia. Money from the pearl fund raiser will help girls who might not be able to join the program.

Kay Goebel and Joan Maguire were co-chairmen of the luncheon. They presented Jim Vallion a special certificate for assisting committee members with flowers since the inception of the luncheon.

Lou Kerr was honorary chairman and advisory committee members were Annie Bohanon, Marion DeVore, Christy Everest, Dannie Bea Hightower, Karen Luke and Polly Nichols.

Committee members included Maria Abbott, Amy Amundsen, Gene Barth, Kelly Basey, DeDe Benham, Corey Blake, Gerry Bonds, Nancy Bradley, Cheryl Browne, Ione Browne, Karen Browne,Jolly Brown, Elaine DeGiusti, Susan Drake, Lori Fink and Joan Frates.

Also Molly Ross Fritch, Peggy Gandy, Joan Gilmore, Kathi Goebel, Vicki Gourley, Anne Gray, Debby Hampton, Jana Harkins, Ann Hoover, Leslie Hudson, Wiley Hugos, Ann Johnstone, Karen Keith, Beth Kerr, Renee Knox, Julie Knutson, Laura Lang, Becky Love, Melanie Maguire, Debbie McKinney, Elizabeth Meares, Hedra Merson, Saundra Naifeh, Kristi Oliver, Ashley Parrish, Sandy Pembroke, Joy Richardson, Charlotte Richels, Edie Roodman, Paula Sanford, Wendi Schuur, Sarah Sears, Gayle Semtner, Linda Slawson, Kathy Stewart, Carter Townsend, Julie Tubb, Jim Vallion, M.J.
