ONE AND ONLY….Elaine Levy invited a special group of people to her home. 80 women came to the party and one of things that the women had in common was that they had grown up as only children.

The invitation stated “Rare individuals like yourself are invited to come together at our “One and Only” annual celebration of “Onlyness.”

Co-hostesses were Carol Blackwood, Peggy Collins, Suzanne Cunningham, Marge Duncan, Sally Harry, Ann Felton, Connie Mitchener, Sue Nix, Marsha See, Millie Woodruff and Phyllis Stough.


All of the hostesses wore a strand of large-sized pearls and flashing faux diamond rings. Guests enjoyed wine and lime drinks, small sandwiches and cakes (decorated with #1) and truffles.

Guests included Sue Timberlake, Sally Bentley, Beth Wells, Penny McCaleb, Betty Crow, Mary Mahaffey, Kay Oliver, Barbara Watson, Judy Jordan, Sylvia Shirley and Lois Holmboe.

Ann Alspaugh, Ann Hoover, Barbara Lauterback and Jeaneen Naifeh met for a luncheon at The Coach House for visitors Lauterback and Mary Anna Scanlon.


LET’S HAVE LUNCHAnn Felton, Ann Hoover and Jeaneen Naifeh were hostesses at a luncheon at The Coach House honoring Barbara Lauterback, Centre Harbour, N.H., and Mary Anna Scanlon, Harrison, N.Y. They were visiting Ann Alspaugh.

They celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday a little early and served turkey and gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and they decorated the tables with fall flowers, pomegranates, persimmon branches and fall leaves.

Guests included Brenda McDaniel, Ann Alspaugh, Vicki Gourley, Barbara Cooper, Carol Troy, Holly Healey, Cathy Leichter, Lela Sullivan, Jane Jayroe Gamble, Annie Bohanon, Kaye Cook, Melinda Cox and Barbara Harjo. Bob Naifeh invited friends for lunch too and at the men’s table was Bill Jackson, Gerald Gamble, Bob Gilliland, Bob Hoover and Jackie Cooper.

Ashley Parrish, Kathy Griffin, Mary Jane Southwick, Terry Bradley, Jane White, Brie Dorr, Linda James, Carol Solomon, Cindy Rice and Shari Buxton celebrate at a baby shower honoring Dorr.


SHOWERING BRIEBrie Elkouri Dorr, Cambridge, Mass., was honoree at a baby shower and party at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. Hostesses were Jane White, Carol Solomon, Kathy Griffin, Cindy Rice, Shari Buxton, Ashley Parrish, Mary Jane Southwick and Linda James.


The hostesses gave the honoree and husband Chris a silver baby rattle from Tiffany’s. Gerber daisies in antique silver vases decorated the Hunt Room and food items included sugar cookies in the shapes of teddy bears, rocking horses, baby buggies and baby rattles. A large wheel of Brie cheese was served as well as “Shirley Temples,” the honoree’s favorite drink as a child. Wine was also served.

Small bar tables were set in the room and they held vases of daisies and were topped with antique linen tablecloths. Special guests of the honoree were her mother Terry Bradley and her friend Caiti Barta Sanders, Aspen, Colo.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEASLEYSJudy and Tom Love and Sylvia and Robert Slater gave a birthday party for Sherry and Lee Beasley in the Love home. Their 60th birthdays are within a month of each other.

Table decorations were cakes in different flavors. When the guests blew out the candles at each table, they made good wishes for the Beasleys. Other guests included Beverly and Mark Funke, Jane and David Thompson, Susan and Jay Johnston, Cindy and Hugh Rice, Alice and Don Dahlgren and Lana and Dave Lopez.

Bill and Pam Shdeed, Ann Alspaugh and Bill Jackson were at the Oklahoma City University dinner following the Day of Celebration at OCU.


DEDICATION DINNER…Several Oklahoma City University buildings were dedicated on a special “Day of Celebration” October 30th and a dinner in the new Brenda and Tom McDaniel University Center Great Hall concluded the activities.

At the dinner for 250 people, President Tom McDaniel spoke, as well as Board Chairman Bill Shdeed. Vice President of University Advancement Art Cotton also talked as the group kicked off a fund- raising campaign.

Rick McKee played the piano during dinner and the OCU Choir sang.

On the “Day of Celebration,” an Oklahoma Centennial Clock was dedicated; the school’s newest dormitory, Centennial Residence Hall, was dedicated and ceremonies for the Norick Family Student/Faculty Lounge, the Martha Burger Career Services Center and the Sylvia and Jack Golsen Conference Center were held. The renovated Brenda and Tom McDaniel University Center and Shdeed Trustee Lounge were also dedicated.

Penny Voss, Clay and Jamie Farha and Len Cason were at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation reception at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.

SPECIAL EVENING….Members of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation board of directors honored ten former Board Chairman and their families at a cocktail reception at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.

Current board chairmen Len Cason, and David R. Brown, 1997-2001, were honored as well as these board chairmen posthumously: Ancel Earp, J.G. Puterbaugh, Ted Warkentin, John Rogers, B.D. Eddie, Ben C. Wileman, Dean A. McGee and Edward L. Gaylord.


At the party were Linda and Lance Benham, Libby and G.T. Blankenship, Louise Bennett, Judy and Jack Bryan, Donna and Len Cason, Christy and Jim Everest, Tricia Everest, Jamie and Clay Farha, Ann Felton, Mary and Colin FitzSimons, Barbara Fretwell, Gerald Gamble, Bob Gilliland, Holly and Clay Healey, Hon.
