PARTIES EXTRA: JULY 13, 2007-JULY BIRTHDAYS
Hostesses Nancy Bradley, Jeanne Blair, Elaine Levy and Linda Howell are ready for guests to arrive.
JULY MUST SEES…Friends with birthdays in July celebrated at a party in the home of Elaine Levy.
Co-hostesses were Jeanne Blair, Kim Bohanon, Kristen Bohanon, Nancy Bradley, Anne Dalton, Linda Howell, Lynn Kelly, Bert Faye Fex and Lynn White.
The group missed a couple of years of parties, but, decided to re-convene with the women born under the horoscope signs of Leo and Cancer. They served crab-shaped cookies and lion cookies, both symbols of the signs. Decorations included a tin lion and sandwiches served on a crab plate.
Guests included Marilyn Sullivan, Leslie Samara, Marsha See, Jane Harlow, Debby Dudman, Kay Oliver, Zana Willey, Georgia Collins, Barbara Beeler, Lillie-Beth Brinkman, Kirk Hammons, Mimi Ephraim, Ann Hoover, Sally Hood, Peggy McMillen, Judy Jordan, Judy Phillips, Margaret Wells, Hilary Karchmer, Joan Fleetwood and Patti Barakat.
Tom Knott and Ranell and Steve Brown are decked out in red, white and blue for their annual July 4th luncheon.
BRING THE GANG…The red, white and blue party invitation that invited friends of Judy and Steve Brown and Tom Knott and their children, Meredith Brown, Kristen, Matt, Bella, Micah Brown and Katy and Robert McGee and Christy, Brian, Austin and Gavin Gordon, noted that families were invited. It read: “This means children, married children, grandchildren, boy or girl friends and parents.”
Flowers on the table followed the Independence Day theme and were red gladiola, white daisies and blue hydrangeas. Fried chicken and all the trimmings, including homemade ice cream, made up the menu. The hosts gave guests a scroll about the history of Oklahoma.
Among the guests were Jackie and Mike Jones, Mary Ann and Don Morrison, Becky and Jim Buchanan, Virginia and Barney Brown, Joe Savoie, Jeannie and Dennis Wolfe, Tina Swanson and Emily and Jeff Belisle. There are several families that had three generations of partygoers. They are Joe Blake, Peggy Burris, John Harris, Alan Hollingsworth, Smokey Jett, Mike Jones, Kim Kimberling, Tom Knott, Joe Mideke, Dan Reineke, Linda Steinhorn and Bubba Symes.
PERFECT PARTY…Wanda and Bill Swisher and Rita Moore entertained at a cocktail buffet honoring Julie and Maj. Mike Benham, Panama City, Fla. They were in town for a wedding ceremony and reception at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.
Friends and members of the wedding party were invited to the Swisher Farm. Guests enjoyed a sunny evening in the country and being with the happy couple.
Among those at the party were Janie and Bill Comstock, Joy and Jerry Richardson, Gene and Ed Barth, Pat and Jay Edwards, Nancy and Bob Ellis, Ann and Bob Hoover, Judy Lehmbeck and Kirk and Royce Hammons.
THE RIGHT MIX…Families, medical personnel, researchers, social workers and pharmaceutical executives met for the 22nd national convention of the Huntington’s Disease Society of America. THE 100 people attended a reception at the Oklahoma Medical Research Institute.
Guests also took a tour of Dr. Kenneth Hensley’s laboratory at OMRF and the MRI facility. Dr. Hensley studies the rare inherited neurological disorder.
