PARTIES EXTRA: June 9, 2007-FORMER PRESIDENTS CONVENE
PRESIDENTIAL UPDATE…. Katie James was chairman of the annual Junior League’s Past President’s Luncheon. It was at the JL Headquarters and 18 former presidents attended.
Presidents Betsy Mantor and Karla Wallace talked about current projects and the 80th anniversary celebration activities. Incoming President-Elect Laura Ogle was introduced.
BOOK IT…. One of Integris Baptist Medical Center’s volunteers, Pete Kallenberger, was instrumental in setting up the Pete Kallenberger Lending Library in the Medical Center’s hallway near the first floor elevators’ lobby.
As a volunteer, he delivered books and magazines to patients and the closet where he kept them became so full that it was time for expansion.
There was a grand opening, ribbon cutting ceremony and reception recently and guests and family members had the first look at the space for current books and magazines for patients and visitors. The area also features Internet access. Volunteer services director Daisy McNeill was in charge of the festivities.
CELEBRATING 50…Dana Childress celebrated her birthday at a dinner party planned by her husband Don Childress
At the party were Sylvia Trachtenberg, Tina and Bruce Day, Kanela Huff, Cindy and Andy Lewis, Allyson Naifeh, Kent Potter, Katie Marshall, Burch Fryer, Becky and Steve Wetwiska, Kathy and Larry Lawrence, Jean and Bill Smith, Wiley and Bill Hugos, Jennifer and Tony Puckett, Anna Amis, Hal McKnight, Loraine Kakaska and Charlie Buxton.
