PLEASURE OF YOUR COMPANY…A private showing of the 2007 Symphony Designer’s Show House and a dinner was held May 18 at 1510 Dorchester Drive. Hosts were directors and officers of First Fidelity Bank.
DINNER AT THE HOUSE…. Members of the Tomlinson and O’Connell Law Firm were hosts for a Show House dinner and tour on April 28. It was a client appreciation event before the Show House officially opened.

CLASS OF 1947…. The 1947 University of Oklahoma Medical School class had a 60th reunion at the Waterford Hotel. The next day they joined other OU Health Sciences classes for more reunion festivities at the Oklahoma History Center
The 1947 class (15 strong) met at 5 p.m. to visit and then posed for a class picture before the 6 p.m. dinner.

When members of the sixth annual Cardiac Arrhythmia Research Institute (CARI) event planning committee met on May 22, they made plans for the November 14th event.
Co-chairman Elaine Levy was hostess in her new home for the champagne kick-off and assisting her was co-chairman Jenny Kallenberger. Liz Coe is honorary chairman of the party which will feature a guest speaker and jewelry designer.
The planning committee set the patron party for Nov. 13 in the home of Malia and Frank Love. At the meeting were SoRelle Fitzgerald, Libby Blankenship, Angela Timberlake and Kery Mueller. They will be various chairmen of the centennial party.
PARTIES EXTRA: May 18, 2007- Dancing with Star Members
BEST OF THE BEST…Lotus Club members and guests dined upstairs at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club before taking to the dance floor.
Tables were filled with beautiful flowers and the lively group of club members drew table numbers for their seating arrangements. Men (some wearing white dinner jackets) wore their Lotus Club pins in their lapels of their formal attire.
Johnson Hightower is club president and Susan Hoffman, Lisa Pierce and Lela Sullivan are on the arrangements committee.

HOWDY Y’ALL…It was a western evening at the Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa when members of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation had the spring board meeting and awards banquet.
The menu included all Oklahoman grown foods featuring buffalo, pork and chicken. The western swing band “Asleep At the Wheel “ entertained.
200 people were at the meeting which honored OMRF scientists Linda Thompson, Ph.D; Dr. Fletcher Taylor jr. and OMRF board member W. Lance Benham III. Thompson received the Edward L. and Thelma Gaylord Prize for Scientific Achievement; Taylor was recognized as an OMRF Distinguished Career Scientist and Benham received the Board of Director’s Distinguished Service Award.
Guests included Betsy Thorpe, Jim Bass, Sharon Bell, Len Cason, Mark Collins, Judge Claire Eagan, Ken (cq)Fergeson, Malinda Berry Fischer, John Green, Martha Griffin, Jacqui Haglund, Holly Healey, Randy Hill, Harrison Levy jr., James Mueller, Tom Parrish, Justice Steven Taylor and Dr. John Saxon III.

CONGRATULATIONS…Kate Stanton was honored at a luncheon May 12 after commencement ceremonies at the University of Oklahoma where she received her Master’s Degree in Human Relations.
Lunch was at “Fancy That” Restaurant in Norman and hostess was her mother Flo Stanton. There were monogrammed, pink- iced cookies and a large pink cake with the letter “K”. Cookies were party favors for the guests and big bouquets of pink roses were on all the tables.
Among the guests were Clarke Stroud, Kari Jacobson, Kami Gantt, Bill Wallace, Amy Bodwell, Stacy and Rennie Cook, Sara and Dr. Michael Daves, Cindy Post, Lori Crawford, Becky Post, Samantha Suchala, Kim and David Bowe and Kristin Partridge.

HONORARY LUNCHEON…Paul Dudman, Dr. Jose Freede and Debby Dudman were at the luncheon at the Molly Shi Boren Ballroom at the University of Oklahoma where Freede received an honorary degree. along with Michael Bloomberg, James C. Day, Steven E. Moore, Mary Nichols and Marilyn Horne.
HONORARY LUNCHEON…Five 2007 Honorary Degree Recipients and a 2006 one from the University of Oklahoma were honorees at a luncheon given by Molly Shi Boren and OU President David L. Boren and members of the board of regents.
The event was in the Molly Shi Boren Ballroom of the Oklahoma Memorial Union. Honorees were Michael Bloomberg (he was commencement keynote speaker), James. C. Day, Jose Freede, Steven Moore, Mary Nichols and Marilyn Horne.
Boren, Mike Cawley, Lee Allan Smith, Dr. Ron White, Mary Margaret Holt and Jonathan Shames introduced them.
Also at lunch were award winners and their families from the Regent’s Alumni Awards ceremony which was held prior to the Honorary Degree event. Those winners were Robert S. Beall, Arch Gilbert, Lisa Morris, J. Dean Robertson, Michael Samis, Dr. Brock Schnebel and Charles W. Ward.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY VANCE…Vance Winningham was honored at a surprise 65th birthday party given by his wife Dee Ann Winningham in the home of Marcella Sullivan. Assisting with the party were Kanela Huff and Kyle Anderson.
Invitations, decorations and tables were in black and silver colors. Guests had a buffet dinner including a Caesar Salad table (Winningham’s favorite). “The Talk of the Town” band played.
Guests included Amalia and Paul Silverstein, Janet and Mark Price, Judy and Mike Duffy, Jinny Lang, Ardmore; Wellington Smith, Austin, Texas, and Ken Tackett, Lake Kiowa, Texas.
AWARDS DINNER…Executive Women International members had the annual Business Career/ Development Program awards dinner and Oklahoma City University executives were hosts.
The group gave $20, 875. in scholarship awards to high school and adult students. Winners were Devin Newsom, Mallory Caitlyn Kutch, Chinh T. Doan, Lauren Swenson, Aubrey Delafield, Tracie McCoy, Kinu Yamamoto, Ava Jean Phillips, Chantel Johnson and Carla King.
Oklahoma City chapter of EWI has 65 member firms and Linda Walker Brown is president.
BIRTHDAY SURPRISE…Cathy Stackpole was honoree at a surprise 50th birthday reception at Café Nova. Hostesses were Nancy Robertson and Meg Salyer.
Among the guests were Gerry Bonds, Linda Whittington, Annie Bohanon, Karen Luke, Joy Richardson and Kay Goebel.

Five 2007 Honorary Degree Recipients and a 2006 one from the University of Oklahoma were honorees at a May 11th luncheon given by Molly Shi Boren and OU President David L. Boren and members of the board of regents.

STARS ON HAND…A Cowboy hat with the initials “JW” on the hatband and a cowboy boot invited guests to the May 4th Oklahoma barbecue dinner honoring Jimmy Webb.
Singer/songwriter Webb and his wife, Laura, were in town for the Oklahoma City University commencement ceremony at OCU and Jimmy Webb was awarded an honorary doctor of musical arts degree.
Hosts were Pam and Bill Shdeed in their home and co-hosts were Brenda and Tom McDaniel and Jane and Gerald Gamble.
Bouquets of sunflowers decorated the outside tables.

SHOWING THE HOUSE…A special showing of the 2007 Symphony Designer’s Show House was May 5 at 1510 Dorchester Drive. Hostess was Jose Freede and co-hosts were her daughters, Margaret Owens and Cathy Freede.
Guests toured the house and then a gourmet dinner was served. Blue and lime green napkins and tablecloths were set on the tables in a tent outside of the house and huge bouquets of peonies and roses were centerpieces.
BLACK TIE DANCE…The Seventy Five Club black-tie dinner and dance was May 4 at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. Club President Bob Benham greeted guests as they arrived.
The Stars Band from Norman played mellow music during the cocktail hour and then resumed playiny, this time dance music, after dessert. The dance floor was rocking.
BUENO PARTY…A Cinco de Mayo dinner and room by room shower honored Eileen Price and Josh Everett May 5. It was in the home of Jeary and Dr. Mike Seikel. Co-hosts were Cindy and Mike Biddinger, Sody and Robert Clements, Donna and Dr. Bill Bozalis, Jane and Dr. Sandy Elliott, Gayle and Barney Semtner and Linda Steinhorn.
The engaged couple will be married June 2.
IN THE GARDEN…The annual garden luncheon for Junior League Sustaining members was held April 30 in Janie Axton’s home. Several salads were served to 100 guests and garden tools were used as serving utensils.
DISTINGUISHED DINNER…Dr. Edouard Brezin was the speaker at the 4th annual Senator Penny Williams Distinguished Lecture Series at the Oklahoma School Of Science and Mathematics on May 3rd. He talked about energy.

HONORING THE STAFF

Brandy McDonnell, Lindsay Goodier, Yvette Walker were at the party on the 8th floor conference room at The Oklahoman.
Yvette Walker was hostess when the NewsOk online editors were honored at a party on the 8th floor of The Oklahoman. New editors Sally Allen, Lindsay Goodier, Laura Hendrix, Robb Hibbard and Stephanie Sallaska were introduced at the party. Large plates of cookies were served and party favors were highlighers for everyone.
Theme for the party was “We highlight each other.” The entire 8th floor staffers attended the event.
PARTIES EXTRA: May 8, 2007-MS Butterfly
UPCOMING LUNCHEON

The colorful and happy butterfly pin is a special symbol representing the Oklahoma City Multiple Sclerosis Society. Proceeds from products with the butterfly will help fund research in Oklahoma.
“Carrying the Cure on the Wings of A Butterfly” is the theme for the Oklahoma City logo pin for the 6th annual Women Against Multiple Sclerosis. The enamel pin was created last year by volunteer Kirk Hammons, Oklahoma MS director Paula Cortner and Oklahoma City Chapter director Lucy Fraser.
This year’s invitation to the MS luncheon on May 11 at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum featured the butterfly too.
The idea for the annual event came from Nancy Ellis in 2002 whose daughter was diagnosed with the disease.
2007 steering committee members are Theresa Bozalis, Michelle Ellis, Courtney Holliday, Kimberly Lohman, Kelly Moody, Elishica Morton, Kerry Mueller, Lori Payne, Myrla Pierson, Angela Reynolds, Cindy Riesen and Cindi Shelby.

Jose Freede and daughters Margaret Owens and Cathy Freede were hostesses for one of the Show House Evenings at the Oklahoma City Orchestra League’s 2007 Symphony Designers Show House.
Guests toured the house and then had a gourmet dinner in the tent connected to the swimming area.
Anna McMillin, OCOL President, greeted guests as well as Lucy Cheatwood and Jean McCown, Show House co-chairmen.
This was one of 16 Show House Evenings. The House is at 1510 Dorchester and will be open until May 20th.

MEET JOE AND JODY…When Carole and Ed Kelley and Lee Anne and Renzi Stone entertained for Jody and Joe Foote last week, guests got a look at the architectural renderings of the Phase II Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication building.
Joe Foote is Dean of the College and was in Oklahoma City to talk with OU journalism graduates and alumni members and issued his personal invitation to the guests for the Phase II groundbreaking ceremony May 1.
NEWEST ARRIVAL…A Sip and See party honored Laura Galt Snavely and new daughter Scout Elizabeth, 9 weeks, from Little Rock, Ark.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEORGE…George Seminoff celebrated his 80th birthday at a dinner party for 80 people hosted by his wife, Sharon Seminoff, and daughters, Emily Brown and Mia Davis, in the Brown home.
BEST OF THE BEST…University of Oklahoma collegiate and alumni members of Delta Delta Delta sorority in Norman met for a buffet dinner in the chapter house last week.
The people who were invited to the party thought they were celebrating the fact that the chapter had won the OU President’s Trophy and they were, but, they were also celebrating the surprise win of the national Delta Delta Delta outstanding senior award, the Sarah Ida Shaw award, which was given that night to Katie Morgan. She has been chapter president and was also named outstanding senior woman at OU.
Judy Bodenhamer was also recognized as Panhellenic Advisor of the Year and outstanding freshman, sophomores and juniors and Pe-et members were introduced.

ISLAND CASUAL…Addie Wilkerson and Reilly Burke were honorees at a dinner and miscellaneous shower in the home of Jane and David Thompson. Co-hosts were Judy and Gerald Keeton, Andy and Mike Snyder and Nancy and Kim Kimberling.
Party theme was “Cheeseburgers in Paradise” and Mike Snyder cooked burgers for 90 people. Attire for the guests was “island casual.”
PARTY TIME…A miscellaneous shower and dinner honored Paige Edwards and Michael Frenzel who will be married in June. The party was in the home of Debbie and Ron McCord and co-hosts were Janie and Greg Cook, Cathy and Mike Cross, Ann and Zane Fleming, Susie and Tommy Gray, Marilyn and Jack Henley and Mary and J. Robert Reneau.
APRIL SHOWER…Mary Robideaux was hostess for a kitchen and casual dining shower for Eileen Price who will marry Josh Everett in June. Co-hostesses were Kathy Cain, Linda Garrett, Ellie Idstrom, Gayle Kearns, Allison Taylor, Susan Wendelken, Kris Weir and Kathy Woodall.
Theme was the party was April showers and the invitations featured open umbrellas and the tables were decorated with open umbrellas and yellow rain boots filled with flowers.

VISITING SANTERO…Debbie and Charlie Carrillo, Santa Fe, New Mexico were in town for a gallery demonstration at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. Lela and Dr. Mark Sullivan entertained a dinner party in their honor. Artist Charlie Carrillo brought six of his colorful retablos on wood to show to the guests.

A FIELD OF SUPPORTERS…Karen and Terry Lester, Ft. Worth, Texas, were hosts for an engagement party for her daughter Allison Sherrill, Edmond, and fiancé, Blake Hendley.
CELEBRATION…Phi Mu Alumni members celebrated Founder’s Day with a luncheon at the chapter house in Norman. Sorority women from Texas and Tulsa joined the Oklahoma City members and the University of Oklahoma collegiate members.
