Take a twin to lunch

On February 2nd , Susan Parker, Susan Hoffman,

James’ birthdays in the newly- remodeled Gallery Grill at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.

He prepared Coquille St. Jacques, Duck Salad, Tequila-grapefruit sorbet, Tournedos Rossini and a dessert medley of chocolate mousse, biscotti and orange creme.
Among attendees were Stephanie and John Devero, Linda and Herschel Meadows, Teddy and Dick Devero, Virginia and Robert Holleman, Shari and Richard Cathcart, Lori and Richard Mildren, Susie and Jay Nelson, Ann and Burns Hargis, Martha and Ron Bradshaw, Marilyn Balyeat, Jenny and David Kallenberger, Lela and Mark Sullivan, Barbara and Jay Quillian, Connell and Cliff Branan, Marilyn and Bill Case, and Kris and Bill Frankfurt.
WIG GIG
Mary Kay Samis was very surprised at her 50th birthday party Jan. 24. Hostesses noted that she was “wiggin’ out.” They asked guests to “get wiggy with us at Cafe Nova’s” and said that “if you’re coming to the gig, gotta wear a wig.”
Hostesses Kathy Brown, Rhonda Hefton, Shirley Everest, Leslie Samara, Laurie Givens and Karen Samis surprised the honoree, who had to put on a curly carrot-color wig as she arrived.
Wig stands with painted faces and brightly colored wigs were on the tables. The stands were set in vases and surrounded with purple flowers and pearls.
German chocolate cake, the honoree’s favorite, was served with dinner. Lynne Henneke wore a Raggedy Ann wig; Helene Huff had a pigtail wig; Jill King wore a black wig; and Laurie Givens’ wig was blond, tied with a scarf.
AWARDEES HONORED
Meg Salyer was hostess Jan. 28 at the Association for Women in Communications afternoon tea honoring 45 present and past Byliner Award honorees.
Four dozen peach-color roses decorated the tea table set up in the dining room. Association President Erin Engelke welcomed everyone. Among the guests were Betty Price, Linda Lambert, Ann Hoover, Linda Cavanaugh, Liz Eickman, Mary Ann Moon, Kari Watkins, Berta Faye Rex and Joan Gilmore. This year’s honorees are Mary Ann Eckstein, Sister Joseph Marie Gibbons, Martha Burger, Pam Newby, Laura Warriner, Lil Ross and Maj. Gen. Rita Aragon.
