Johnson and Millie Hightower are welcomed by party hosts Paul and Jean Head. The Heads’ Christmas open house featured flower arrangements of red poinsettias and amaryllis, along with bouquets of red and white roses and white hydrangeas. Meet Katharine
Lexy Huffman, Elizabeth Kaplan, Katharine Augusta Kaplan and Lee Kaplan attend the Sip and See party given by Lexy Huffman for the Kaplans, who are from Boston. Katharine, 3 months, is the first granddaughter of Lexy and Huston Huffman. The baby wore a green Christmas dress with Santa faces in the smocking. The party invitation was a pink Christmas stocking. Party cookies were in holiday and baby shapes with lots of icing.
Bridesmaid luncheon
Jessie Dowd, Brooke Myers, Lauren Curtis, Jessica Boothe and Christa Long attend the bridesmaid’s luncheon for Curtis given by her aunt, Susan Dobson. She married Trey Fair on Dec. 22. A beautiful ribbon embroidered tablecloth was used for the party, and a glass bowl filled with pink roses, yellow freesia, blue irises and Christmas greenery decorated the table.

Holiday cheer

Joanne and Tom Hoch had a few neighbors in for several kinds of chili during the holiday season. Their beautiful home was totally decorated for Christmas with lots of antique toys and holiday scenes. Outdoors, a life sized Santa sang Christmas carols.

Western Night

The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum was full of people at the inaugural one night event hosted by members of the Persimmon Hill Associates. Prix de West and special invited artists brought their artwork to the Art Preview and Reception called “Small Works, Great Wonders.” People bid on the artwork and most of it was sold at the event.
The fixed price sale of art was originally set for November 30 but was re-scheduled for December 18th.
Santa Claus

When guests visit Judy and Tom Love, they enjoy seeing
all the Santa Claus figures throughout the house. The vast collection
shows all kinds and sizes of Santas. Many of the Santas have been
gifts from friends through the years and many of them have been
collected by the Loves.
It is an awesome Christmas sight!
Party honors engaged couple

Geoff Dulaney and Cassie Baker were honored at an “around-the-house” shower and dinner in the home of Sharon and John Bozalis. Co-hosts were Judy and Bill Phillips, Chelin and Gregg Satherlie and Betty Ann Furseth and Jerry Furseth.
The engaged couple will be married in May.
The honorees, both from Charleston, S.C., enjoyed visiting with their friends and took their wrapped shower gifts home to open.
Guests included Candy and Tom Dulaney, Susan Parker, Drew Neville, Lori and Bond Payne, Bob Ellis, Jan and Dick Parker, and Barbara and Randy Walker, Charlotte, N.C.
HOLIDAY GATHERING
Jim Vallion and Ann Alspaugh stood at the front door of the festive Alspaugh home to welcome their party guests.
Life-size holiday figures were set in the entryway and windows of the house held wonderful snow scenes.
The menu items were festive, and dessert was birthday cake to celebrate the hosts’ birthdays.
Vallion’s birthday was on the day of the party, and everyone joined in to sing “Happy Birthday.”

FUN TO SEE
Baby Burke Johnson, 7 weeks, napped during the party that grandmother Gennie Johnson held in his honor.
His mother Tyfanna Johnson and sister Kirby Johnson, 8, greeted guests, and Kirby rode the toy train that was part of the decorations at the front door.
There were vases of yellow roses and toy trains on tracks that served as centerpieces for the holiday menu items.
Train cookies were also served.
Guests included Sara Northwood, Martha Bradshaw, Betty Lou Stewart, Penny Replogle, Toby Walker, Mary England, Kirk Hammons, Pam Smith, Betty Crow, Carol Gann, Laurie Hyde and Sharon Wade.
LOK CHRISTMAS PARTY
The Leadership Oklahoma Holiday Celebration was in the home of Robin and James Meyer.
Two hundred members of the group celebrated the 20th year, and the entire membership throughout the state was invited to the holiday party.
Lee Symcox is president.
Flowers in the Meyer home were arranged by Dulaney Flowers, owned by Candy and Tom Dulaney, both Leadership Oklahoma class members.
Ann Ackerman is the organization’s new chief executive officer.
CHRISTMAS

It is a wonderful time of the year. Suzie
and Stan Hupfeld’s home is filled with Christmas music and Christmas
cheer. Suzie recently entertained her card group for a luncheon and
all of her decorations were in place.

Santa, clowns among guests at children’s holiday buffet party

Children and grandchildren, ages 12 and younger, of Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club members had a party last weekend.
After the cookies-and-punch party, the children enjoyed their own buffet luncheon featuring pizza, chicken strips, mini corn dogs, macaroni and cheese, and grilled cheese sandwiches.
Christmas movies were shown by the fireplace. There was a face painter, and Santa and Mrs. Santa Claus gave out 150 Christmas stockings filled with toys. There was also a clown and a Santa’s elf mixing and mingling with the young guests.

For the members
Another special evening at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club was Dec. 2 when the members’ Christmas party was held.
The huge tree was lighted, and all guests had a sample of foods served at the country club during the year.
The wild game table featured foods such as braised duck and grilled quail. There was a seafood table as well as ham, beef tenderloin, leg of lamb and chicken curry. Brandy ices, a club specialty, were served for dessert, along with a large array of cakes, candies and cookies arranged around the Christmas tree.

On the sidelines
A Big 12 championship football watch party was given by Joe Fallin in his home. His children, Christina Fallin and Price Fallin, assisted him. They decorated the house with University of Oklahoma football helmets and candles, and a large OU flag was spotlighted outdoors. They served red chili and stadium hot dogs and fondue from a football fondue pot.
Among the guests enjoying the OU win were Beth and Lee Portman, Deloris and Dennis Bradford, Randy Buttram, Kathy Roberts, Jayme and Joe Howell, and Cookie and Lee Centracco.
Toasts Gallore
Toni Wizenberg celebrated her 60th birthday at Kam’s Cookery when Lori and Bond Payne and Annie and Dick Bohanon were hosts for a dinner in her honor.
Among those who offered toasts was Annie Bohanon, who wrote a toast describing the honoree from A to Z. Guests included Pam and Bill Shdeed, Ann Felton, Janie and Bill Comstock, Pam and David Fleischaker, Amalia and Paul Silverstein, John Hughey and Bill Hawley.

Christmas Luncheon

A group of women used to meet monthly for cards
and lunch. They now meet for lunch only and had their Christmas
luncheon in the home of Carolyn Hall. Her home was filled with holiday
decorations and Christmas trees.
Neighbors gather Thanksgiving Eve

Debby and Paul Dudman were hosts for a neighborhood party the evening before Thanksgiving Day.
Instead of turkey and dressing, the hosts served Brie cheese topped with Debby Dudman’s special cranberry sauce.

Katy Powell and Scott Anderson were honorees at a couples’ shower and Italian dinner given by Cathy and Gary Dempsey in their home. The theme for the shower was “Stock the Bar.”

Meet the author
Author Mary Beth Busby of Washington, was recently honored at a luncheon in the home of Linda Rodgers.
Co-hostesses were Annie Bohanon, Sally Burpee, Sally Hughes and Marian Kiker. Busby’s book is “Dear Megan: Letters on Life, Love and Fragile X.” The co-author is Megan Massey.
Busby also had a book-signing event at Full Circle Book Store. That evening, Busby and her husband, David, gave a dinner honoring hosts of the parties. The Busbys are former Oklahomans.
