GREAT article!!

Why do some people not understand that what the media wants is for you to perform for them this time of year. All that comes to mind is the organ grinder and the monkey. What we do is a hobby and the majority of the groups out there are clubs not educational entities. For the most part all they are doing is regurgitating what they have heard someone else say. This is not a seasonal hobby and those who only do things during the Halloween season are only out for themselves.

This article was brilliant. My team and I have been asked by another group to speak at an engagement that will have members of the press for halloween and I just can’t bring myself to do it. If it were for fun….maybe but not for recognition. It’s hard enough as it is now to be taken seriously in this field.

Excellent blog, Tonya! As investigators, most of us have families that should come first. I want my kids to experience and love Halloween just like I did as a kid. I don’t want them thinking that Halloween is Mommy’s busy time.
