Facebook dare accepted. I'm not sure what I believe paranormal wise. I have never had any experiences. I do believe in U.F.O.s, ESP and remote viewing, so maybe there is some hope left for me.
As out mutual friend M. Hollingworth would say.... well, never mind, it would be censored.

Great blog and you hit the nail right on the head too. While I do believe in haunted or cursed items, so many people are jumping on the topic claiming they have this and they have that, who knows what is or isn't.

That was a fun article! I've always been fascinated with so-called "haunted items." I don't necessarily believe items can really be haunted, but I love the stories and claimed experiences that become attached to such items.

Creepy dolls have got to be the freakiest things on the planet! lol I remember my sister had this doll that she could not keep in the same room with her at night. When you pulled it's string it whispered and it's mouth moved. Very creepy. I wish I had it now. lol

But yeah, enjoyed the article. Keep up the good work! :o)

I'm not a believer in haunted objects, but did have an experience. When my grandfather was moved into a nursing home, I took some of his furniture from his house since I didn't have any of my own. This included the bed he had used for many years. One night while sleeping in that bed, I had a very vivid dream about him, and later that day my father called to say my grandfather had passed away. That was the only time I dreamed of him, before and after. So was there energy connected with the bed? Maybe. Or it just could've been ties from being a loved relative. Definitely the bed was not haunted, though.

Good blog. Living in a materialistic culture, people often date occurrences in terms of possessions - "We had that big thunderstorm just after we bought the new furniture" - and so the association between acquisition and "bad luck" and strange occurrences is often much stronger than most realize.

As far as something collecting energy - if someone rubbed on a rosary for twenty years, I guarantee that the only transfer of energy resulted in worn down beads and some temperature change while it was happening.

More importantly, someone knows that the individual prayed with the beads everyday, and all of sudden the item is culturally loaded with that person's identity. The rosary, ultimately, is a societal representation of that person's memory for others.
The rosary will sit there, still a rosary, but people will associate it with that person and begin to give it attributes of a personality with tastes and preferences. At which point the item is "haunted".

G'Day

Long time reader, never commented before *laugh* sorry

I actually have a bit of a collection that grows as people send me stuff they don't want or I remove it from locations for ethical reasons i.e. to stop a child fixating on something.

Most of the items are just polain objects but I have a few that have interesting stories and have actually provided me with some experiences. In fact I had a show recently dealing with haunted objects.
