Sarah Palin and Kate Gosselin go camping?

This is a link that I feel compelled to post, if for no other reason than to satisfy your curiosity:

I had considered writing about “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” before it aired, but decided not to because it seemed to be more of a reality show about the former Alaska governor and her family than Alaska. But this is kind of interesting, just for pure entertainment reasons. Will you watch? If you do, I’d love to know what you thought of the episode.

Here’s a video promo of the episode:

My wife and I have been watching…I have been somewhat disapointed at the lack of outdoors related content. But have still enjoyed the show. Seeing Kate camp should be fun to watch!!

I think that was my principal beef with the show. I remember another show, oddly enough, called “Michael Palin’s Himalaya,” and the follow-up, “Michael Palin’s Sahara,” in which the former Monty Python star took viewers through a series of stops throughout those regions. His quirky character was definitely part of the show, but the star was always the places he was visiting. I figured that’s what Sarah Palin’s show would be about. And if you think about it, it would be easy to do. A stop in Anchorage. Denali. The Brooks Range. The Yukon River. ANWR. The Brooks Range. And so on. But Alaska is definitely a setting or a backdrop in this show. Sarah Palin and her family are the stars.

And I guess that’s OK of you are a fan of the former Alaska governor. It just wasn’t what I expected. It’s a personality-driven reality show. I’m not sure if I’ll watch or not, but I know plenty of other people will. I’d be curious to know what you think about it after it airs.
