Trekking to Alaska: Documentary on couple’s walk from Seattle to the Aleutians
This is an interesting preview to a documentary that is coming out pretty soon. Talk about an adventure: Using only human power (hike, ski or kayak), Bretwood Higman and Erin McKittrick decided to travel from Seattle to the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. They did this to raise awareness on conservation issues, but also to embark on a real outdoors challenge.
My biggest single-day hike still stands at 20 miles. These two multiplied that about 200-fold, and much of what they traversed was backcountry, off-trail and rugged. Something to admire, or, for a distinct few, aspire to achieve.
