Honestly, I have often wondered the same thing. Which is why I resisted the brand for so long. It's really bad out West. At the same time, I can't argue the quality of the gear. If I had a few dollars to throw away, I'd be buying me some stuff from The South Butt. Truly, I would.

Personaly I would love to have some South Butt apperal. I agree North Face equipment is high quality. I have a tent, watershoes and a well worn Beanie as well. But I get sick everytime I take my daughter to school and 75% including teachers are wearing North Face. It's like the idea of the outdoors has become popular but by people who prefer a night at the Hilton over a night under the stars. It makes me wonder when north face quality will begin to be more on the level of Old Navy?
