I would like to start a petition for a “Make My Day” Law for low life scum bags that steal Tree Stands, Trail cameras, and other hunting &/or fishing gear.
My brother and I made a deer plot in early September on private, posted land in northern Seminole county and installed a 20 foot, 2 man tree stand on the plot in a large Oak in a line of trees at the edge of a creek and hay field.
We returned to the stand on October 4 and was excited to find the very attractive growing plot that we felt would attract a nice buck. We installed cushions on the stand for comfort for Bow season and a trail camera to see what was coming to the plot.
We returned to the plot on October 14 to check our camera and found the stand gone and the trail camera as well. This was right after the rains and could not tell how they came and went but there is only one road in and out. The stand was about 1/3 of a mile from the county road through thick woods on that side except for the gated road. It seems as though it was someone familiar with the area.
I don’t know what kind of person would do this but I think it would be a person or persons even their mother wouldn’t like.
I’m still trying to get over being furious and hope I don’t see these thieves in the act when I am there “hunting”.
