3D shoot at Crystal Lake

Rob Stillwagon aims at a 3D deer target at Crystal Lake. The lake will be the site of a 3D archery tournament Saturday and Sunday. Another 3D tourney is scheduled at the lake on July 14-15.

A 3-D archery shoot is scheduled at Crystal Lake in Oklahoma City on Saturday and Sunday.
Styles will be open (shoot what you bring); Unlimited (bowhunting equipment); Limited (bowhunting equipment, no mechanical release); traditional recurve; and traditional longbow.
There will be competition for adults, both men and women, ages 18 and younger; youth, ages 13 to 15; cub, ages 9 to 12 and peewee, ages 8 and younger.
Books open at 8 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday and close at 3 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Cost is $15 for the first round and $10 for additional rounds or fun round. Ages 12 and younger shoot for free.
The proceeds from the event will go to City Kids Outdoors. City Care, a non-profit agency that helps the poor and homeless in Oklahoma City, now manages Crystal Lake.
City Care has cleaned the lake and an archery range has been added. City Care hopes to use the lake as a site for summer day camps and an outdoor classroom for inner city kids.
Other improvements such as a pavilion and bathrooms are scheduled to be built at the lake, located near SW 15 and MacArthur. To get to the lake, take the MacArthur exit on I-40, go south to 15th Street then go west to the lake.
