New Striper Record for Texoma

Michael Blomberg of Kingston poses with the new Lake Texoma record striper caught on Saturday

For the second time this year, an angler has set a new striped bass record at Lake Texoma.
Michael Blomberg of Kingston caught the 21.9-pound lake record on live shad in the Sandy Beach area on June 9.
While there were bigger stripers caught on Lake Texoma years ago, Blomberg’s fish in the biggest since the Oklahoma Department of Wildife Conservation instituted the lake records program in 2008.
Past unofficial fish records on state lakes were not counted in the new program unless they were state records as well.
Largemouth and spotted bass lake records also have been caught on Lake Texoma this year.
