The fishing for channel catfish has been good lately at Arcadia Lake

CENTRAL
Arcadia: May 27. Elevation normal. Channel catfish good on CJ’s punch bait and chicken liver at day break and after dark. Report submitted by Chance Whiteley, game warden stationed in Oklahoma County.
Hefner: May 29. Elevation normal, water 73-77 and clear. Largemouth bass good on soft plastics and jigs at 4-8 ft. along weeds and rocky shorelines. Smallmouth bass slow on soft plastics and jigs at 4-8 ft. along weeds and rocky shorelines. White bass and striped bass hybrids good on grubs, small spinnerbaits and blade baits at 2-6 ft. along windy shorelines. Channel and blue catfish good on punch bait, cut bait and worms at 3-10 ft. along rocky shorelines. Crappie fair on jigs and grubs at 10-15 ft. along the dam. Walleye fair on crankbaits and drifting night crawlers at 5-15 ft. along windy shorelines. Sunfish and bluegill good on worms. Report submitted by Lucky Lure Tackle.
Overholser: May 27. Elevation below normal, water murky. Catfish slow on stinkbait and worms. Striped bass hybrids fair on minnows on bottom early morning. Thunderbird: May 27. Elevation 2 1/4 ft. below normal, water clear. Crappie good on jigs at 3-5 ft. around structure. Saugeye good on green jigs, sassy shad and medium-diving crankbaits. Channel catfish fair on cut bait and stinkbait. White bass good on jigs, sassy shad and medium-diving crankbaits on humps and drop-offs. Wes Watkins: May 28. Elevation 4 1/2 ft. below normal, water 81 and clear. Channel catfish good on chicken liver and worms at night. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at tree clearing line. Report submitted by Michael France, game warden stationed in Pottawatomie County.
NORTHEAST
Bell Cow: May 28. Elevation normal, water 76 and clear. Bass good on plastic baits and crankbaits. White bass good on minnows at night. Channel catfish good on punch bait, stinkbait, chicken liver and crawdads. Crappie good on minnows and jigs. Report submitted by Gary Emmons, game warden stationed in Lincoln County.
Birch: May 27. Elevation normal, water upper 70s and murky. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits in the mornings and topwater lures in the afternoons. Channel catfish good on worms and cut bait. Blue catfish good on cut shad. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 6-12 ft. Report submitted by David Clay, game warden stationed in Osage County.
Carl Blackwell: May 28. Elevation 6 ft. below normal, water 80. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs. Saugeye and striped bass hybrids good trolling crankbaits. Catfish good on all baits. Report submitted by Jon Cunningham, game warden stationed in Payne County.
Chandler: May 28. Elevation normal, water 77 and clear. Bass good on spinnerbaits and plastic baits. Channel catfish good on chicken liver and punch bait. Crappie good on minnows and jigs. Report submitted by Gary Emmons, game warden stationed in Lincoln County.
Copan: May 30. Elevation normal, water clearing. Crappie slow on minnows and jigs at 3-5 ft. around the lake and the new fishing dock at Copan Point. White bass slow on white grubs in areas with large numbers of shad. Catfish good on cut shad, sunfish and worms below the dam and down the Caney River. Eucha: May 30. Elevation 3/4 ft. below normal, water 79 and dingy. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around drop-offs and ledges. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits and plastic worms. Catfish fair on limb lines baited with cut shad. Bluegill good on crickets and worms around grass beds. Report submitted by Dwight Moore, City of Tulsa.
Ft. Gibson: May 27. Elevation 1 ft. above normal, water 78 and clear. White bass good on small crankbaits along windy banks. Catfish good on juglines and rod-and-reel baited with cut bait and shad while drifting the flats around Long Bay and Paradise Cove areas. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 5-15 ft. Largemouth bass good on crankbaits and Biffle bugs at 5-15 ft. Report submitted by Rick Stafford of Wagoner.
Greenleaf: May 29. Elevation normal, water clear. Largemouth bass good on spinnerbaits, crankbaits and jig-and-worm in pumpkin color along creek channels, shorelines, brush structure and rocky points. Catfish good on fresh cut bait and liver. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around fishing docks and brush structure. Report submitted by Lark Wilson, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.
Hudson: May 29. Elevation normal. Largemouth bass good on plastic baits. Channel and blue catfish good on juglines baited with cut bait. Crappie fair to good on minnows and jigs. Report submitted by Steve Loveland, game warden stationed in Rogers and Mayes counties.
Hulah: May 30. Elevation 1 ft. above normal, water clearing. Crappie slow on minnows and jigs at 6-8 ft. Catfish fair on cut shad and worms below the dam. Report submitted by Joe Alexander, game warden stationed in Washington County.
Keystone: May 29. Elevation 1/2 ft. above normal, water 76. White bass slow to fair around points. Catfish slow on juglines. Crappie slow to fair on minnows and jigs at 10 ft. Report submitted by Karlin Bailey, game warden stationed in Creek County.
Lower Illinois: May 29. Elevation normal, water 42 and clear. Largemouth bass good on topwater lures in the coves. White bass good on jigs and spinnerbaits at 1-2 ft. all along the river. Striped bass fair on jigs and plugs at 1-2 ft. at the mouth of the river. Channel catfish excellent on cut bait on bottom all along the river. Crappie fair on jigs at 1-2 ft. all along the river. Trout excellent fly-fishing the surface, on rooster tails at 1-2 ft. and on Power Bait on bottom from Gore Landing. Report submitted by D. Tracy, Town of Gore.
Oologah: May 27. Elevation 2 ft. above normal and falling, water upper 60s to low 70s and muddy. Blue catfish fair on juglines baited with shad at 10-15 ft. and fair on shad below the dam. White bass fair trolling shad-colored crankbaits at 10 -12 ft. on flats and fair below the dam. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 10-12 ft. suspended around standing timber. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits around flooded brush. Report submitted by Brek Henry, game warden stationed in Rogers County.
Skiatook: May 29. Elevation 6 ft. below normal, water upper 70s and clear in the lower end and murky in the upper end. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 5-15 ft. around structure. White bass and striped bass hybrids fair on live shad at 15-30 ft. around the Hwy 20 Bridge. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits in creeks and coves. Sooner: May 29. Water is being pumped into the lake. White bass and striped bass hybrids fair on live shad and slabs at the intake. Catfish good on chicken liver, cut bait and live bait at the intake towards the north end of dam. Crappie fair on minnows along Hwy 15. Spavinaw: May 30. Elevation slightly below normal, water 78 and dingy. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 15-20 ft. around brush piles. Bluegill good on crickets and worms along shorelines. Catfish good on limb lines along deep rocky shoreline. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits. Report submitted by Dwight Moore, City of Tulsa.
Tenkiller: May 28. Elevation normal, water 78 and clear. Largemouth bass fair on topwater lures early and late and on spinnerbaits and crankbaits at midday. Catfish good on night crawlers and minnows along windy banks and on flip-flops at 20-30 ft. Crappie fair at 20-25ft. around brush. Sunfish good on nightcrawlers in spawning beds. Webbers Falls: May 29. Elevation normal, water murky. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits and bill baits along riprap and brush structure. Catfish good on fresh cut bait and liver drifting or on the mudflats. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs in purple and black around bridges and brush structure. NORTHWEST
Canton: May 26. Elevation 6 ft. below normal, water clear. White bass and striped bass hybrids good drifting slabs and trolling crankbaits near drop-offs. Walleye good drifting night crawlers. Channel catfish good on stinkbait along the dam. Report submitted by Mark Walker, game warden stationed in Blaine County.
Ft. Supply: May 28. Elevation normal, water murky. Channel catfish fair on stinkbait, cut shad and shrimp all over the lake. Report submitted by Mark Reichenberger, game warden stationed in Woodward County.
SOUTHEAST
Arbuckle: May 27. Elevation 1/4 ft. above normal, water 75 and clear on the main lake while stained up the creeks. Algae is present, especially on calm days. White bass being caught on small wiggle-tailed grubs and small crankbaits chasing shad in the open water near the dam and mouth of coves. Crappie being caught on minnows and jigs around docks early morning and on chartreuse jigs at 15-30 ft. around brush piles. Channel catfish good on shrimp and punch bait. Bass good on topwater lures early and on flukes, crankbaits or worm rigs at 8-12 ft. Report submitted by Jack Melton.
Blue River: May 30. Elevation normal, water 80 and clear. Smallmouth and spotted bass good on soft plastics fished around structure in larger pools. Channel catfish good on stinkbait, chicken livers and minnows fished around current in large pools. Flathead catfish fair on live bait at night. Sunfish excellent on small lures, crickets and mealworms. Report submitted by Matt Gamble, biologist at the Blue River Public Fishing and Hunting Area.
Broken Bow: May 28. Elevation normal, water clear. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass being caught on flukes at 10-15 ft. around structure and timber. Catfish good on juglines and trotlines baited with cut bait and small sunfish. Crappie good on minnows and jigs in the upper end around structure and mouths of creeks. Eufaula: May 27. Elevation 1/2 ft. below normal, water clear in the east and murky in the west. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits and spinnerbaits along rocky areas. White bass good on jigs below the dam when running water. Blue catfish good on a variety of bait at 2-6 ft. along rocky areas. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 6-12 ft. around bridge piers, riprap and standing timber. Report submitted by Ed Rodebush, game warden in McIntosh County.
Hugo: May 27. Elevation 5 ft. above normal, water 68. White bass good on minnows and jigs in the river channel. Blue catfish good on cut bait below the dam. Crappie good on minnows and jigs along flooded timber and riprap in old creek channels and fair to good on jigs below the dam. Konawa: May 25. Elevation normal, water 81 and clear. Largemouth bass good on plastic worms and topwater lures at 4-8 ft. along weed beds. Channel catfish good on stinkbait at 5-10 ft. around points. Report submitted by Daryl Howser, game warden stationed in Seminole County.
Lower Mountain Fork: May 27. Water mid-60s. Rainbows still being caught on March browns in the Red Zone. Walleye, white bass and rainbows good on rooster tails and grubs near the power house. Report submitted by Mark Hannah, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.
McGee Creek: May 27. Elevation 1/2 ft. above normal, water 78 and clear. Largemouth bass fair on Carolina-rigged soft plastic baits and H & H spinnerbaits at 2-12 ft. Report submitted by Larry Luman, game warden stationed in Atoka County.
Murray: May 29. Elevation below normal, water 75 and clear. Largemouth and smallmouth bass good to excellent on various baits. Channel catfish good on liver, shrimp and stinkbait. Pine Creek: May 27. Elevation normal, water clear. Bass good on secondary points in shallow water with spinnerbaits. Crappie good on grubs in shallow water. Catfish good on juglines baited with cut shad. Report submitted by Mark Hannah, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.
Sardis: May 27. Elevation normal, water 78. Largemouth bass good on spinnerbaits and buzz baits early morning and on swim baits, crankbaits and plastic worms at 2-14 ft. late afternoon. White bass fair on jigs at 14-16 ft. Channel and blue catfish good on cut bait and dead minnows. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 6-14 ft. Walleye good trolling crawdad colored crankbaits at 12-14 ft. Report submitted by Dane Polk, game warden stationed in Pushmataha County.
Texoma: May 27. Elevation 1 1/2 ft. below normal, water 73 and mostly clear. Largemouth and smallmouth bass good on plastic worms, crankbaits and spinnerbaits at 5-15 ft. around riprap and fish attractors. Striped and white bass good on live bait, sassy shad and some on surface lures at 5-20 ft. in the river channels. Channel and blue catfish good on live bait, worms and stinkbait at 10-20 ft. from Johnson Creek to Platter Flats. Crappie fair to good on live bait, shrimp and jigs and small lures at 10-20 ft. around the fish attractors and underwater brush piles. Sunfish good on worms, shrimp and small tube jigs at 5-10 ft. around the fishing docks. Paddlefish fair below the dam while generating. Wister: May 27. Elevation normal, water murky. Largemouth good on buzz baits and Zara Spooks and fair on crankbaits and spinnerbaits. SOUTHWEST
Altus-Lugert: May 27. Elevation 23 3/4 ft. below normal and rising. Fishing holding steady. Crappie being caught on minnows near rocks around new fishing dock. Bass and walleye being caught on minnows on the point, between the main swim beach and the dam. Report submitted by Sue Hokanson.
Ellsworth: May 27. Elevation 9 ft. below normal, water murky. Catfish good on cut bait off rocky points. Report submitted by Mike Carroll, game warden stationed in Comanche County.

Tom Steed: May 28. White bass and striped bass hybrids excellent on minnows on bottom around points. Catfish good to excellent on stinkbait around Pump Island and Pelican Island. Waurika: May 28. Elevation 6 1/2 ft. below normal, water murky to muddy. Striped bass hybrids slow to fair. Channel and blue catfish slow to fair on cut shad, stinkbait and worms along windy shorelines and points.
