I try to make it to each of the riverine trout fisheries every year, didn’t make it to the Illinois this summer, may try a winter trip this year….been a long long time since I fished it in the winter….

I have been fishing the Lower Illinois, staying at MarVal, for thirty years and have seen many changes in MarVal and the river. I had written off the Lower Illinois for this winter, but am really glad it will be back. Plan on making at least one trip this winter to fish it. Would like to see an article on MarVal as it is a wonderful place for families.
