We have taken several deer and have had the police come over when we shoot. I have shot suppressors and you still get the crack of breaking the sound barrier but not the muzzle blast. It’s like most things the uninformed cry fowl without any knowledge. What’s stupid is preventing law abiding citizens from enjoying something just because criminals might use it. And there are no criminals that would go to the trouble to get a federal permit much less be able to qualify or afford it.
