Pretty good prediction. If NU scores more than 10 points, there will have to be some ‘gifts’ involved. In other words, NU will hve to win the turnover margin substantially, and also win in the special teams area. Should be a better game this year though, considering NU’s improvementin defense. If NU wins, it’ll sort of be like 1978 (except with worse records for both teams) with NU a decided underdog. Cody Green will definetly be the wild card. Look for Green to be a top flight Big 12QB in the next 3 years. Zac Lee should wind up being a decent backup next year, given his knowlwedge of the offense, but limited abilities as compared to Green’s tremendous upside.

Every team has its share of “pond scum” , even OU. Everybody knows or
remembers the thugs and punks Miami had under Jimmy and Dennis.
To a certain extent, Florida, is the new Miami. What they do on the field is probably nothing compared to what they do off the field. Flash back to Barry
and Pat, and what Gundy is going through trying to weed out all the scum.

Jerry, I agree with your comments about Spikes. However, your comments about Tebow and Florida are completely off base. I have nothing but respect for Urban Meyer and what he has accomplished at Florida. And as far as I have seen, Tebow has been nothing but respectful and a good sport.

No doubt about it, Jones is the real deal. But he really has only been tested in the Texas game by a fairly good Texas defense, and he had a tough time (granted he didn’t exactly get a heck of a lot of help from the rest of the offense). Jones faces his first real test against a top notch Nebraska defense. I think this game will show exactly how good Landry Jones really is.

I disagree with your prediction. I’m not gonna make one, I am a die hard husker fan and unable to separate that from my predictions. But regardless of who wins, it will not be by alot.

One other thing I disagree with is your assesment of the quarterbacks. Landry Jones, on paper, would be the obvious choice. But if you think about it, Jones is going to be pressured like nothing he has seen this year, as will Green (I am pretty sure Green will get the start) since both teams offensive lines are weak and the opposing D-lines are probably the top two in the nation. Taking this into consideration, Jones is FAR less of a mobile quarterback than Green, and as we have seen Green is at his best in bootleg and on the run situations. Therefore, I give the quarterback advantage to Nebraska, because the quarterback that can be mobile in this game will be the most productive.

Thats right, stats don’t lie. ‘Stache has some good numbers for almost 7
games played, when compared to B, C, and D who have played 8 full games.
The numbers he has put up could be a double edge sword, though. He has
had less defensive exposure and OU has little to No rushing game, so
that only leaves the passing game to account for most of the yards and
scoring. But stats don’t lie, and give you a good rule of thumb when all the
tangible’s are considered. Of course the DO could do a comparison of those
4 and chart the amount of rushing yardage, TD’s scored, Sacks. Thats one
of those tangibles I mentioned. Probably got overlooked,…right!
