The reason OU vs WVU is a Nov game and not a Sep game is the TV execs. They feel OU and WVU are the early favorites to win the conference and wanted that game pushed toward the end of the season. I am really surprised it wasn’t TCU, OSU, WVU in that order to end the season. I am sure the TV execs would prefer two teams meet on the last weekend to determine the conference champion. With a Big 10, PAC 12 and SEC Championship Game that same day the Big XII doesn’t really provide a compelling reason for TV viewers to care. That means fewer viewers and that means less ad revenue. If the Big XII cannot come up with a final game that matters this year I expect the TV bosses will tell the Big XII to add two teams and a conference championship game or expect less money in the future.

With all the uncertainty because of conference realignment this is probably the best OU can come up with. What bothers me is two open dates in Sep. OU could have really used moving one of the late Oct games to Sep and have a mid season open date. You can also see who the TV execs view as the favorites to win the Big XII. That would be WVU and OU. That is why that game is a Nov game and not a Sep game. Also, I think there will be two more teams added to the Big XII next year and a championship game added. By doing that UT can put off playing in Morgantown until 2016. They wouldn’t be on UTs schedule again with a 12 team conference until 2015 and I am sure UT would have the Big XII make that one in Austin. That way they wouldn’t have to play in West Virginia until 2016. I am also sure UT would make sure OU played WVU in 2013 and 2014.

REally? The best OU and OSU can do is two MEAC teams? We don’t have to play major schools with the conference and ND, but how about atleast D1?
