“Everything was great until we got inside the 1. We just got stuffed. They penetrated, drove us back and we weren’t able to create any seams. We got knocked off the ball or they got too much penetration and we weren’t able to get anything.”

Predictions: OU at Texas A&M
When: 6 p.m. Saturday
Where: Kyle Field, College Station, Texas
TV: Fox Sports Oklahoma (Cox 37) – Radio: 107.7 KRXO-FM, KOKC-AM 1520
Oklahoma travels to College Station, Texas, Saturday to play Texas A&M. Preseason Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, quarterback Jerrod Johnson, has been benched and Mike Baldwin writes about his replacement, Ryan Tannehill. Berry Tramel writes about the Sooners’ road woes. OU is 22-18 away from home since 2005. Baldwin also has a story on freshman linebacker Corey Nelson, a one-time Texas A&M commitment who spurned the Aggies for OU before Signing Day. Nelson on his decision to attend OU:
After talking to my family and peers I look up to, OU was better for me. (A&M) wasn’t sure what type of defense they were going to run. They didn’t have a linebackers coach. I don’t regret it at all. I love Oklahoma. I love my teammates. And the school… I’ve tried to put that behind me. It’s in the past. A&M is a good school. I just want to move on and continue to work. I’m at Oklahoma now. We’re just going to go out and play Oklahoma football.”
Here are our staff predictions for OU at Texas A&M:
Jake Trotter: OU, 31-24

Predictions: OU vs. Colorado
The Sooners take on Colorado Saturday on ESPN2 at 8:30 p.m., and the Buffaloes could be the cure for the Sooners’ problems. CU is 3-4 on the season and without its starting quarterback. Dan Hawkins’ son, Cody, who orchestrated a 27-24 over Sam Bradford and the Sooners in 2007, will start Saturday.
Berry Tramel thinks the Sooners will roll over Colorado. He also wrote about Landry Jones’ problems and Bob Stoops’ crunch-time decisions. Jake Trotter wrote about OU’s kicking game woes and Mike Baldwin wrote about the Sooners’ defense.

Predictions: OU at Missouri
Oklahoma is ranked No. 1 in the BCS Standings, but the Sooners have a tough schedule. Jake Trotter wrote about OU’s path to the BCS National Championship game here. Jerry Palm, who analyzes the BCS standings at collegebcs.com, said despite OU topping the BCS this week, a couple of other programs have the inside track to the championship game.
Palm: I don’t think they control their own destiny. I don’t think they can hold off an undefeated SEC champion. If Oregon goes undefeated, too, I see OU as the odd man out.
Can the Sooners take care of undefeated Missouri this week with ESPN’s College Gameday on site? Is OU – coming off a 52-0 dominating victory over Iowa State – peaking at the right time?
Here are our staff predictions for OU at Missouri:
Jake Trotter: OU, 29-17
Mike Baldwin: Missouri, 30-28
Berry Tramel: OU, 27-23
Jenni Carlson: OU, 24-13

Jake Trotter wrote about DeMarco Murray’s transformation and his pursuit of passing Steve Owens’ 41-year-old record for most career touchdowns in OU history. Murray needs two touchdowns to tie Owens, three to make him No. 1 all-time. How many touchdowns will Murray score this weekend?

Predictions: OU at Cincinnati
Oklahoma travels to Cincinnati this weekend to take on the Bearcats in the Sooners’ first road game of the year (though the game’s being played at “neutral” Paul Brown Stadium, home of the Bengals). Last year on the road, quarterback Landry Jones had more interceptions (10) than touchdowns (8) and was down in every other category compared to his stats playing in Norman. The Bearcats, on the other hand, are a disappointing 1-2 on the season and without their top receiver and tight end against OU.
