Simply out, Wort doesn’t have great speed, and is not very good at shedding blockers. Not promising for the NFL.

Should have stayed around, enjoyed a final year on campus, gotten a master’s degree, whatever. His chances of making it in the NFL are slim – always looked dazed and confused in pass coverage. By all accounts, he’s a smart kid. Hope he has his career goals plotted out.

I feel Wort was in a very bad place (OU) for a kid that wanted to play linebacker. In both Venables and then Stoops “schemes” Wort was a wasted asset. This is a guy who wanted to hit someone very hard on every play. Instead he was never quite sure what to do, given the pass coverage responsibilities OU backers had to take on. Because the d-line rarely got pressure on the opposing qb it only made things worse for linebackers having to cover speedy guys. He is too small for an NFL linebacker but he could b a special teams supertar.
