Did they ever envision bikini clad women playing volleyball as Olympic Champions? Unlikely so, but historical research will show that wrestlers were in the first group of such genuine champions. It’s also likely that these originators never imagined that something called ‘marketing entertainment’ would one day trump contests of true athleticism.
