He has the size, and the arm to make the transition. His perceived lack of mobility will be a non-issue when he starts slinging TD passes at the next level.

Landry Jones is a good to very good quarterback…but he isn’t a great quarterback. He isn’t good with pressure from the defense…especially from his left side. One thing he is though….he is a very great person. For his future that is much more important. If he goes to the NFL and has a great career or no career at all, he will still be a great person. I do know the OU football team and OU fans will miss him next year. He won two games for OU in pressure situations late in the season and he beat Texas three years in a row. So, thank you Landry Jones.

I’ve watched every single snap of Jones’ career, and he does what every QB does when the pocket collapses and somebody gets in his face — he doesn’t perform as well.

There isn’t a QB alive, IMO, who does well when pressured with a pass rush. Some of you guys have no idea what you’re talking about.

I read that description of Landry Jones every so often. I see no more fearful reaction from L.J. Than any other major college quarterback and most NFL quarterbacks. People compare him negatively to Sam, but Sam had one heck of an offensive line protecting him.

Unfortunately, the disdain for B. Stoops of the popular media drains positive interests away from Jones. His propensity to have one or two very bad passess, at the worst possible spot on the field, and his dancing feet also cause the so-called experts to question his value. What they should be looking at, in my opinion, are the results and play in the last four OU games (I believe that OU would have lost at least three out of four with any other QB)hia overall passing yardage and won/lost record over his career. He’s a great
QB and a super representative for OU sports.

Landry’s propensity for game changing turnovers hurts him. He comfortably holds the career interception mark for Sooner passers – his 51 eclipses Gundy’s 32. Add in the fumbles for TDs (OSU last year, K-State this year) and you have a QB that often performs at a high level, represents his univeristy well but manages to make epic mistakes from time to time.

Let’s face it – on the biggest stage OU lost, and he was penalized greatly for this, both mentions and inevitably dollars in the NFL.
