I'm an old Ag. I cannot tell you how many times I've pulled for the Sooners, especially when they played UT. One of my very best friends is a Sooner. We were Army officers together in Germany many years ago. I've long respected the OU program, and I have long felt that the best and most consistent head coach in NCAA football is Bob Stoops. We have had to live in the shadows of UT for a very long time. No more. It will be an honor to become an elite program like OU. So, take a lot of this b.s. for what it is. I think this is going to be one heck of a football game. Sumlin has coached and learned from the best. If/when the SEC expands to 16 teams, I hope OU and OSU are the two expansion teams. Leave the Shorthorns all by their lonesome. Boomer Sooner and Gig 'em Aggies!

I think it will be close and hope for an Aggie win. OU deserves some respect here. They are 10-2 as well and are always well coached. I hope the team is not reading some of this smack.

The thing I remember most about the 77-0 game is that, if Bob Stoops had desired,it could have been 100 or more. At the end of the game, the OU offense was all but taking a knee. As an Aggie, I appreciated that. The 100 point barrier would be something from which the program might not have recovered. We were THAT bad. This Cotton Bowl is about THIS year, not any silly payback.

OU fans, this isn't your older sibling's A&M football team (Mr. rboomersooner), and you will realize it as the game progresses... it won't be close. The Aggie defense will disrupt OU's rhythm from the start and A&M will control the tempo until the end of the 4th quarter. And the Aggie offense will do more of the same -- control the tempo and likely put up 20 pts in the first quarter.

I am amazed how over the course of just one year A&M can turn things around with a new conference, new coach, new uniform and new quarterback. Who needs an "elite program"? I prefer to be just who we are -- the juggernaut. By the way, aussooner, A&M won't be losing many TX recruits to you going forward...I think the young men in the great state of Texas have found a new home at A&M...which, I guess, will make A&M one of those "elite programs" when it's all said and done!

Good luck Sooners. It will be an entertaining game. And I actually think you will feel alright about the loss, because you'll enjoy seeing Johnny Manziel for the first time -- he's fun to watch!
