Why don't we leave discipline to the school and coaches. Of course I am concerned about Thompson and maybe even more so about JS's pot bust. OU was among those that got screwed by the unintended consequences of a ridiculous rule. But, perhpas Georgia, a team that beat Florida in Jacksonville got even more screwed..and LSU is along with OU...but hey, if OU hadn't fumbled going in to score or on their own one yard line against KState...either of which would have won it...no contraversy....in the long run, the fans get the shaft because unless FSU just does not care or sleep walks...they should totally blow out a team that beat KU by 7 and lost to IA....best we worry about T A&M and Johnny Football--my guess is that other than the NCS game...it will be the most watched and anticpated game of all...Boomer Sooner

Richard, You can and absolutely should suspend a player for that. This isn't boxing - it's football, and the hit clearly violates NCAA rules. Regardless of what set him off, he should have stayed composed. This is now viral, and the Big 12 really has no choice other than to suspend him.

Jot this note down to yourself: cut the wise guy attitude and shut the hell up. You're welcome.

Thompson should be suspended for the bowl game for what amounts to a couple of helmet slaps? That's a ridiculous overreaction on your part.

Steph, hate to enlighten you, but in big-boy football that stuff goes on in the interior line almost continuously from one player or another, from play to play. Guarantee you the player on whom he was relieving his frustrations either was doing the same to him off the line of scrimmage, or taking cheap shots at his legs, or saying rather unsportsmanlike things about his momma. You don't suspend a player for that. Maybe you have him do some extra conditioning so he understands not to commit penalties that would put his team in a bad situation. But you're beyond silly if you don't understand that these guys, at this level, just aren't very nice people between the white lines.

By the way, resident Notre Dame homer, I noticed you didn't say a single word about those nice kids playing for the Irish about how nasty they were behaving as they were jamming forearms and elbows into the helmets and facemasks of downed OU running backs and receivers following just about every tackle. Watch some video of the game and tell me I'm wrong. Why do they do this? It's intended to breed frustration in the opposing player. And it works. And all teams at this level do it.

Jot this note down to yourself: football is rough.

Just two OU players, blow'in a hooter, celebrating, doing what college kids do. Bob recruited them to win games, not get a degree, not represent the school & state. Get to the Pro's, not be a good roll model or example for others. OU is a Pro farm club. Not a University team that he feels allegiance to it or the fans. Fans are a nuisance to him. He's not a local with roots in this region. He's the Anoited one. He's in the JC Click.
