One out of a hundred true freshmen come in and dominate. Perhaps hopes were too high, a great spring game means nothing in the fall. That being said I expect him to have a breakout season next year.

Freshman don’t come in and dominate? Ahem…a few come to mind. Sammy Watkins, Julio Jones, AJ Green. Just to name a coule.

Trey’s plenty good. Give him a little more time and playing time, and he’ll prove himself to be what all had hoped he will be.

Oklahoma does will with all its recruits because it knows how to recruit, who to recruit and how to develop talent. UT relies on number of stars and not on heart and game time ability.

OU used to get guys like that. Peterson’s class was pretty impressive. In Bob’s first 4 years OU had 21 All-American’s, in the last 10 there have been 12. I think that tells a load about the talent drop off. That doesn’t mean OU doesn’t have some studs, just not as many.

Metoyer will be a stud 5-star, and a can’t miss. I laughed when all of these people said he’d come in right away and storm the NCAA, though…probably those ‘ignorant’ people that Coach Stoops seems to refer to and talk about every week in his presser. No way someone at receiver comes in as a true freshman and is dominant at wide receiver. Doesn’t happen.

Saunders was a 3-star, Brown a 4-star BTW.

Since OU coaches do so well developing and winning with 1, 2, 3-stars, imagine how many national titles we’d have if we were able to recruit like Alabama, LSU, USC, Texas, Ohio St, Florida, etc.

People make a big deal about Metroyer because he is a 5 Star receiver Nice to be rated but there are loads of 3 and 4 star players who turn out a whole lot better. I wonder what Saunders, Brown’s, and Still’s rating were out of High School. If it were all about “star” ratings Texas would win the Big 12 every year hands down. I have watched Metroyer play…can’t seem to keep his feet in bounds. He has a ways to go.
