It’s fun to look at these comments with hindsight. Landry’s passing numbers were excellent for the season, but he was horrible in the Cotton Bowl with 5.7 yds per pass play and his usual negative rushing yards. Manziel showed why he won the Heisman with 8.8 yds per pass play and oh yeah 229 yds rushing at 13.5 yds per carry. Klein looked pedestrian in his bowl game with k State getting trounced. The Notre Dame linebacker with the fake girlfriend looked like he could not get on the field if he played for Alabama. The right guy won the Heisman.

I think Landry Jones detractors are going to be like President Harry Truman’s detractors. The longer he is separated from the presidency, the better president he became.I hope Bell makes us quicky forget Landry, but I doubt that will happen. It will be fun having a running/passing threat at QB for a change – but Landry is going to get better with age.

OU wouldn’t be where it is with out Landry this year. I think he is deserving of an invite.

Nice try Jason (Oklahoman). Think of a better story like, how we’re not getting into Texas anymore to get kids. Or perhaps how the Sooners would be in an awkward position if they lost this game (back-to-back 3 loss seasons when there should have been steady improvement. Plus 3 home losses in two years after 2 in the last 12). These are legitimate stories worth covering.

This article however is crap. No Heisman trophies for guys who lose teams games (K-State 2012, we all saw it). He’s done very well since but not Heisman worthy. You should be outstanding all year long to win the Heisman. Period.

-103 rushing should be self explanatory for Heisman consideration. He’s not the complete package. Throw him an invite and send Stoopsy with him. They are Father & Son anyway.

Usually a player that is awarded the Heisman is expected to play well againt his toughest opponents, in the biggest games. Manziel went 1 out of 3 in his big games. Fail.

Collin Klein went 1 out of 2 in his big games. Fail.

Manti T’eo is a very good but not a transcendent defensive player and simply does not deserve the Heisman. I’m not even convinced he’s the best linebacker in 2012, let alone most oustanding overall player. If DT Ndamukong Suh, SS Roy Williams, DE/LB Hugh Green, and DT Leroy Selmon couldn’t win the Heisman with the transcentent seasons they had, then this guy absolutely doesn’t deserve it either.

WTH, I say give it to Vince Young. There is an open 2005 Heisman award available to a deserving candidate, and zero deserving candidates in 2012. Give it to Young. That would be justice : )

Landry deserves to be in the Heisman discussion just as much as Johny Foosball (sic) and Calvin (sic) Klein. No one this year is head and shoulders above anyone else. Therefore, based on Landry’s body of work he deserves consideration. Jason, Sam, Steve, and Billy ought to have Landry on their ballots.

Manti and Norte Damit (sic) get all the awards they deserve on the Norte Dame Glorification Show aka College Football Final. Hey Lou Holtz; keep moving those choppers and telling everyone how great your team is. I can’t wait til Alabama or Georgia show the nation (& you) how great your team really is after the beat down they’ll get. Then all that will be coming out of your mouth will be excuses. Let’s see if you eat crow and well as you talk up the irish.

ESPN has (or at least thinks it has) the power to force who ought to win the Heisman down our throats. I ain’t buying it. ESPN has gotten to way big for their britches. They should give a lot more players consideration.

If there is any justice in college football, Landry will at least be invited to the Heisman ceremony. He by all accounts seems like a fine and outstanding young man who would represent the Heisman well. Thanks Landry for the way you represented OU and your outstanding play. Best of luck to you and best of luck to all of OU’s seniors.

I started to say that after the WV game. I really think he is good enough to be invited. However I don’t think he’ll win it.
