I remember a&m beating texass one year that gave them the opportunity to play in it that year. And another year Tech beat texass one week, only to be demolished by OU the following week,creating a 3 way tie with OU being ranked higher to go to the ship. like Harry says, they won the games they needed to to get there, texass didn’t.

They didn’t back into any of those titles. In each of those years, they did what was required and that is all that matters.

OU has won seven Big 12 titles between ’00 & ’10. Question is, how many did they back into, by another team losing to give them the chance to play for it vs. outright, out of the seven?
