At the conclusion of last year’s Bedlam game we had just won our first outright BIG XII title, and on our home turf. So yeah, drinks may have been spilled. This year’s Bedlam consisted of OU winning a game in overtime that it never led in regulation against a 7-4 team playing it’s 3rd QB of the year.

Either OU has fallen quickly, OSU has risen quickly, or the majority of Sooner fans are douches. I’m betting it’s some of the first, a lot of the second and no doubt about it on the third.

Love the denial in some of these responses. Times have changed. OSU is no longer a flash-in-the-pan program. Folks want to point to last year as some kind of abberation because of the “abnormal” talent that was on that team, yet here we are again in the top 3 of the conference even after losing all of that “abnormal” talent. Whether you like it or not, OSU is going to be challenging for the Big 12 title for many years to come.

Didn’t osu and your fans go crazy last year after osu won? Fans storming the field, climbing the goal posts, I’m sure the players were celebrating too. Did OU fans storm the field, climb the goal posts? No, they played jump around after a hard fought game and celebrated.
OU celebrated on our home turf, if you were a visiting fan you could have left when the game was over rather than sticking around.
Bo, dude really, so what, the guy was happy, I’m sure beverages weren’t spilled last year when osu won.

To the osu guy who started this, see above, I don’t recall OU players tweeting comments like you. How easy it is to forget. I’m sure you weren’t all butt hurt after the 2011 game.

I posted this on PistolsFiring after the game but this time it’s for the Sooners reading:

I am 28 years old and Saturday’s game made my 12th straight Bedlam.

I’ve been an Oklahoma State fan my entire life. I hate the Sooners. I’m also the type who likes to go against the majority, think for myself, not act like a sheep, not conform… you get the idea. Surely it’s quite obvious that I really do hate the Sooners and all that they stand for.

But last night as I stood in Gaylord Stadium angry to a boil yet shivering to the bone, I realized something. It wasn’t when the man to my left called for the Oklahoma head coach’s job. It wasn’t during the half or so of the game that he was calling for the backup quarterback. (Like Gundy, I haven’t got time for non-essentials like the name of Oklahoma’s qurterback.) I realized something as I watched that same grown man jump around like a school boy, spill beverage on himself and his wife and stretch the neck of his shirt while attempting to do what I think was his best celebratory Hulk Hogan impression: Let me assure you, fellow Pokes, that as much as you and I want to crush the hated Sooners of Norman, a Bedlam victory (any victory) means far more to those mouth-breathing oafs who’ve thoroughly affixed their entire identity and self worth to the OU football team than it does to us. These people are the very essence of mediocre, bandwagon, uninspired and The University of Oklahoma — but I repeat myself.

Easy now, let’s not forget what ultimately happened Saturday…8 of the last 9, became 9 of the last 10. The one exception was ugly, sure, but that was an uncommonly talented OSU team. It won’t be often they have a middle-aged pitcher tossing to the planet’s fastest DUI convict. The little sister up north will keep solidifying her program, just like many erstwhile bottom-feeders of the Big 12. Put the bottom 6 of today’s Big 12 up against the bottom 6 of the SEC, and opinions of the two conferences might shift a bit. But as long as the Stoops Brothers remain in power, and as long as they don’t cross the NCAA, the pecking order in the Sooner State is permanently entrenched.

@Joe nobody else, besides SMU obviously, cheated to the extent that OU did. SI cover story 1989 “Oklahoma: A Sordid Story”…really says a lot about the morals of that program.

I remember hearing the same thing from osu fans in 2002… I hate osu but I do like that they decided to show up for a couple of seasons every now and then.. Kstills is a good dude, just expresses the way he feels. Most would do the same at any age. Michael, you think no one else was doing what switzer was doing??..gosh osu fans are delusional.. Couple of good years and you guys think you are world beaters…Most people already forgot Kansas won a bcs game.. Just like most will about osu’s.
