So you will take the word of someone who clearly has a bias over video evidence to the contrary. Also, not a single player has produced a battery, rock or coin to substantiate your article. Not a single OU coach complained to the officials, the media, The Big 12 conference or Texas Tech University. How do you explain that? As a reporter are you taught that rumors are the same thing as facts? You didn’t think about actually investigating these claims before writing something so inflammatory? You should work for US Weekly or maybe Perez Hilton will give you a job since you obviously consider yourself a gossip columnist.

“The search for the truth is what makes a story.” Yeah but finding the truth is what makes the story not gossip. In essence that is all you are, a gossip reporter who should work at the National Enquirer.

Just admit that your article was wrong. I can find someone to say anything, doesn’t mean it is the truth. As previously stated, YOUR name is on the article that you posted as the TRUTH. If your name is on it, you should back it up. You seem to be backing away from it which means that you do not stand behind what you said. To me, that means you should not have wrote this article and should just admit your mistake. As a journalist, you should use sources you trust as opposed to making news out of some exaggeration of a player who lost and was looking for an excuse.

Still not exactly owning up to your mistake. Throwing food is tacky, throwing batteries is criminal. A journalist should put more thought into the claims she/he is making. It really doesn’t matter what a player told you, and it’s poor judgement to hide behind “the playe exggerated” excuse. You published this with your name on it.

Very dishonest response. “…video evidence does show that not every player had their helmet on the entire game…” Actually video and pictures show ththat several of the things you directly quoted these players as saying were outright lies.

Lazy Journalism. There are bad fans from every school but one rarely sees a journalist put forward serious accusations such as this from such a one-sided perspective without some investigation. I’m embarressed to see stories like this.
