Play roy finch. no one else on the entire team can match his speed and explosiveness, why aren’t you working to develop him. He cant possibly screw up any worse than the rest of the team and stoops already have. Done rooting for boomer spooners. No excitement without Roy.

Finch is a good runner, but not of breakaway quality. Whaley is the better, and Stoops is right to stay with him. Besides, it’s rather bush league to ask the coach, after the first game of the season why he did not play so-in-so in this and that position. I am willing to rely on Stoops’judgment more than that of a reporter. Stoops just knows his team a little better. However, as the season wears on and things go South, then the coach is more acountable

Here are my thoughts:

1) The questions about Finch are Millard are fair questions to ask Stoops.

2) Roy Finch will play more later in the season when the conference title is on the line. The coaches aren’t thrilled with his blocking, plus they realize he is not big enough to withstand very many carries. They’ve done this before… they are saving him for later.

3) Stoops has shown repeatedly that he will not field questions second-guessing how his assistant coaches divvy up the player’s snaps. My best guess about Millard is that he does want Millard to touch the ball more but is not going to throw either Cale Gundy or Heupel under the bus. Therefore Stoops knowingly plays the a-hole in the presser just to take the bullet and divert attention.

4) The question about running up the score is not a fair question to ask a coach before the game. Hoover is not playing fair and should wait until after the game to bring it up. Stoops had every right to shoot down Hoover on this.

It’s about time the good people of Oklahoma finally pull the blinders off and see that this man took John Blake’s players and had the incredible fortune to play Bobby Bowden in the 2000 Orange Bowl. He has been fat and happy ever since. His staff recruits very well – and then lay egg after egg on the sideline coaching during the season. Hueple wasn’t ready for the O-Coordinator job, and still isn’t. But Stoops isn’t about to admit that. He also isn’t about to work a single solatry minute more than he has for the last decade to be better prepared or have his staff or team better prepared. He’s going to keep cashing his mind-numbing paycheck(s) and falling farther and farther behind the USC’s Alabamas and LSUs -and unbelievably OKLAHOMA STATE TOO. People need to wake up to his tired routine and demand change!

Norvell already addressed why Finch didn’t play, he is not blocking in practice, nough said.
OU Defense finished the weekend as the #1 unit in pass defense in the nation holding a spread shot gun offense to 38 yds total passing, with out both starting DT’s, that Qb won back to back NC in JR college the previous two yrs he is no HS kid. Could the offense had played better, absolutely, dropped pass’s,missed assignments and penalties can be fixed.
IF the D has to carry the team for a few weeks thats fine, its better than the other way around for a change.

It makes a ton of sense for you idiots (xt in particular) that are knocking Stoops for suspending players who break rules. You seem to have the same intelligence as the idiots in Stillwater so why not just start pulling for OSU? Hey, heres a thought, lets bring back John Blake or Howard Schnelenberger!!! remeber all the fn we had during those years. if anything Jason Kersey needs to develop some thicker skin for christs sake.
