It is a loss. But if you were an elite high school running back why WOULD you want to come to OU? An elite receiver, yes, but a running back? You have an offense geared to pass, pass, pass, and an offensive line that is taught pass blocking. Also, if you are an elite player at any position you want to be able to play on a national championship team. Like it or not that means playing for an SEC team. Since OU is losing a running back that isn't a big deal. They lost another pass blocker and a receiver out of the backfield. Unless you are the third team quarterback you won't be carrying the ball much anyway. It was a bigger loss losing the junior college receiver from California to a lack of passing enough courses.

It's not near the loss some think it is. Bryant & Ford (the other OU RB committ) are very similar players in all regards, from what they bring to the RB position to the physical attributes. If anything the 2011 season showed that OU needs to have a variety of RB's and that they really missed that physical north/south runner who they could lean on. Just my opinion but OU should use this as an oppurtunity to add a big physical RB who can compliment Ford. Someone like Katy, TX's Adam Taylor.
