I was at that game. The defense kept us in the game after Sam went out. Landry was just too green. The Sooners struggled in the first half even while Sammy B was in the game, but the offense started to put it together on the drive Bradford was hurt. No doubt the offense wasn’t ready….too many penalties….too many turnovers….too many missed assignments – biggest one by Trent Williams. But, without a veteran QB, the Sooner offense was doomed. Leadership was missing, from the biggest leader Sammy B. One of the worst coached games by Stoops and Wilson. BV kept us in the game.

Worst opener I’ve seen OU play in a long long time. They were struggling mightily before Sam’s injury. When BYU was on the way to their winning TD, you could feel the air going out of the defense. That was a horrible year for the team that year. So much inexperience with key injuries to the best players. It happens, but what a sad way for them to go out.

Yep, just go ahead and place all of the losses in 2009 on the worst loss list. Just a snake bitten team that year.
