IF you think this game was blown by the refs or that Boise state got lucky is that OU lost and live with it because it is one of the greatest game in football history Boise state has proved they are a powerhouse.

A truly great game. It came down to the same thing I keep saying…Whomever wants it more.

OU…to their credit…never gave up, even when down in the fourth quarter.

The ending of that game will forever stick in the mind of all OU fans. Gutsy calls and perfect execution from the offense of BSU.

I just hope we get a chance to play them again sometime.

I don’t know where you get your info to base your opinion, but this would #2 worse loss in Stoops era, only to #1 worse loss of the Oregon game.

Actually, a couple of missed calls by the officials DID affect the outcome. The one with the fumble that the player was called down before the ball came out. The other was one that no one talks about but it was a missed penalty by the officials. Watch the video replay on YouTube. 4th down in OT for Boise St….the QB goes in motion and the ball is snapped to the running back who goes to his right and then throws the ball for a TD. If you watch the QB going in motion to the bottom of the screen, he clearly starts moving towards the line of scrimmage prior to the snap. 5-yard penalty….replay 4th down. Maybe they would’ve scored. But maybe not. Then no statue-of-liberty play for the 2-point conversion.

I was there (darn it) and thought Golden Boy Ian from BSU fumbled before he was down in OT. That was probably the bad call that was referenced above. This game remains the most lied-about games in OU history. You’d think that this was an epic OU team and that BSU was on par with North Texas (which OU crushed in the next year’s season opener). Truth was, BSU probably should have been favored due to a major edge in experience. But it still makes me SICK that so many non-Oklahoma media types still act like it was “David vs Goliath” and call it an upset on par with the ’80 Olympic Hockey upset (USA amateurs over USSR pros). It was nothing of the sort.

Wonder had OU won at 35-28 if the game is even in the top 50 wins. The defense died….plain and simple…I think that year was one of the best coaching for Stoops. We started the season with no QB. Had Walker ran out of bounds instead do scoring maybe we win. BSU’s defense wasn’t any better than ours. I knew when Walker scored, BSU would come back. I remember yelling for Walker to fall down or run out of bounds. Let the offense win the game. The defense was back in Norman. If the offense couldn’t score we weren’t going to win. Same thing at BU this past year…but that was clearly bad clock management by Stoops.

yea i love my sooners and there have been a total of three games that the refs have cost OU a game but this was not one of them dont know what Fred talking about oh well movin on
