This was the game that I remember that the old OU spirit and sense of worth began to come back. The fake field goal…the goal line TD mentioned…the way they bowed up and FINISHED the game. I knew from that game that OU was back, and going to be coming back in a big way very, very soon. I did NOT think as soon as the next year, but nonetheless…

For all you Sooner fans that thought that moving to the PAC-12 was a good deal, here’s a taste of what it would be like the first game of the season. El Paso, 750 miles, 13 hr. dead-head drive, 9:30 pm kickoff. Don’t tell the 3 Stooges at OU, Boren, Joe and Bob, but that SUCKS!

That game made a statement…not to fans or media….but to the team…they were hungry and didn’t want to settle for mediocre. Depth was a problem on that team coupled with the fact that OU scored too quickly at times and had the defense on the field too much…which may help explain the blown 17 point leads. Anytime you beat a Texas team, is a great day!

Back then, in the Stoops days of old, when he was Bold, and hungry for a win. Look at the staff he had then and who he has now. That thrashing of the Aggies couldn’t happen to a bigger AH than R.C. Slocum.

not quite sure what the purpose is of having the Elton John song come blasting thru on top of the audio play calling in the clip. wasnt good at all. whoever came up with that moronic idea, please don’t do it again.
