Bama fan who is, of course, very proud of our women winning the WCWS. OU had, and will have, an outstanding talented team and I’m sure they will be back at the WCWS next year. However, I do think that the OU coach making such a fuss over the rain during the bottom of the 4th contributed to her team losing that game. It probably would have been better to make her concerns known at the end of the 4th inning. Instead, it seemed almost petty since Alabama’s pitcher had to pitch under the same circumstances at the top of the 4th. Also, Coach Gasso said in her televised interview with Holly Rowe at the beginning of the 4th that the rain would not make a difference and that they could even play in snow. I think that really undercut her credibility to the television audience. When I saw the Alabama players leading cheers with the crowd and then the cameras cut to the OU dugout, I thought then that we would win because the motivation, energy, and will of the Alabama team was clearly evident. With their motto this year being “Finish It” it was apparent that that was what they intended to do even in the rain.

Great year for the Sooners. Great bunch of kids who gave it their best shot and came up short. Best of luck to them next year.
