A lot of folks seemed to have forgot that this WVU team was just a few downs away from playing in the National Title game. I didn’t expect this kind of a beatdown, but the way WVU played, they could have beaten ANYBODY on that day.

I sure remember not seeing THIS one turning out the way it did. The score was closer than the game. OU got schooled in this one. Should be higher on the list.

Seriously, is this blog series really necessary? We know where it’s going to end and I would imagine that any fan would be able to name the top 10 and exactly nail the top 5.

Most of these losses have been driven by a coaching staff that does not have the team prepared to play the opponent or MIA players due to injury or suspension. As I recall, at both Fiesta Bowl debacles, the Sooners were shorthanded. Not saying it’s an excuse, but the fact is the Sooners were less than full strength.

I would have ranked this higher on the “worst” list. I can think of only a few more embarassing losses than this one.

Stoops has turned into an easy win for opposing teams in Bowl games. TCU and WVU will halt all that slobbering love affair the local media has with him, if they are honest. In the bowl mentioned in this article, WVU saw the over rating of the Sooners and the lack of discipline in the defense, slow, big offensive linemen that couldn’t run block. Stoopsy got to make ANOTHER trip to the wood shed.

With RichRod leaving right before the bowl game, coach Calvin Magee called the plays for the game. He called a very different game than rich had called all season. I have to give Calvin the credit for that win.
