Stoops has to do two things to win a national championship. The first is to find out why we have so many key injuries year in and year out and correct it. The second is not to be so predictable and one dimensional. There are times when the offense needs to slow down and control the tempo of the game with ball control giving the defense a rest.

If Stoops were to leave, I would love to have Boise State’s head coach. Smart, highly motivating, seems to get the best out of his players. Stoops does look uninspired, almost irritable on the sidelines. I like Bob Stoops and think he has done a good job overall, but i have higher expectations for him than he’s delivered.

The Sooners honestly looked like they were paid to take a fall against Oklahoma State. They played stupidly. They played uninspired. Their ineptitude was so over-the-top I tell you it looked like it was scripted.

Did the Big 12 quietly convince
OU to lose to OSU to get BIG 12 team into the national championship game, which translates into huge money.

Don’t scorn, weirder things have happened.

willard you are an idiot, name me other coaches outside of saban, les miles and urban meyer who have had more success coaching their teams??? other coaches wish they could play in 4 natl title games and win as many conf titles as stoops has led the sooners to. Ill bet you Gundy would take everything stoops has done to this point. How can u say stoops is not a top 5 coach when other coaches cant even keep their programs is contention for a natl title yr in and yr out. So ur argument makes no sense. 2nd off Roy williams, Josh Heupel, Q griffin, andre wolfolk and a host of others who were the better players on that 2000 natl title team were all recruited by stoops, go do ur home work.

Very interesting article and comments, but I wonder what might have been. Could Stoops and staff started culling out the bad apples earlier? This 2011 team will go down as the all time under achievers. I do not think Stoops our any of his coaches should leave, but this season leaves a bad taste.
Perhaps something will be learned from this.

Any discussion of replacing Stoops is ridiculous and unwarranted. Saying we should hire someone like Brady Hoke is a statement made from ignorance. Too many people are already forgetting what Stoops has done at Oklahoma and it is shameful anyone would suggest anyone else should be coaching OU.
