We must! We must! be able to establish a ground game early and put points on the board. OSU and their defense have struggled against the run at times this year. The question will Stoops be disciplined and run a balanced offense early keeping the defense off the field as much as possible?? Jones needs to buck up and not be afraid and fall down or throw the ball away when he clearly has room to run the ball in certain circumstances. He clearly does not like contact. Once on a broken play with botched hand off to Finch against Baylor he could of run for a first down instead he fell down on the ground and nobody touched him. It made a difference in the outcome of the game. If he had run OU could have kept the drive alive instead of turning the ball over and Baylor scoring. Stoops typically will recruit QBs with bad knees that are not mobile that are forced to stay in the pocket. Examples White and Josh Hip. I reflect back to Bradford who was an exception and the one time he used is athletic ability to blow by a very good secondary and hurled himself self over a defensive player into the end zone for a touchdown was met by a very angry Bob stoops on the sideline. Bell has been another exception but if he was a starter would he allow him to run the ball? One big mistake that Stoops has made is allowing Bell to take some snaps when we have had teams blown out. If Jones would get hurt against OSU this would be a huge factor. One has to wonder why Stoops has not given Bell some snaps other than on third and short or inside the red zone?? Is he afraid that Bell may out play Jones?? Regardless not seeing what Bell can do as far as throwing the football leaves a big question mark when Jones has graduated.
